It wasn't a legitimate question, only a moron or someone trying to act the dick would ask if a 1-+12 day old child in a hospice would have had an covid jab. I don't think Dunc is a moron so I'm left with the other option.
It was a genuine question about your daughter not the baby , it was tactless but I didn't mean to offend you I'm genuinely sorry man , some things are beyond banter
I have been through some ****ing severe trauma over the last few years that would have finished off most mortals . If you want to play sympathy Top Trumps I'm probably not the best person . Try murdered wife Had to fly to Wuhan to save my daughter & my closest family member probably going to be permanently disabled. So as I said life can be a **** it's how you deal with it
The polls had switched to Leave by the Whitsun bank holiday, famously so. You're right though - when Cameron called the referendum it was @ 60/40 remain. Hubris on his part to call for such a long campaign - he and Osbourne thought another Project Fear would do the same job it did in September '14 in Scotland.
Far to much political talk tonight I will sort it out with this fine meme @pompeymeowth which one are you? I am the bottom right
**** it, we all say **** we shouldn't. Neither my daughter or her fella got the jags, the only thing they moaned about was not getting away on a jolly but they've made up for it since.
English folk will.never rebel to any major extent where major change will happen. They haven't got it in them, the class system and all that involves is too ingrained. Look at when the Queen died and look when Chuck is made King. Working class folk and the poor will be celebrating with street parties etc. It is far too gone now for any change. Even the 'left' is run by a 'sir' Sir Keir Rodney Starmer KCB KC. Not exactly Che Guevara. But - It works, all things considered. In saying that they have probably created one of the best societal systems in the world. And by a Long way, for all the bullshit from arseholes like Linekar the UK treat refugees, the homeless and all those that find themselves in the **** end of capitalism better than probably anywhere else in the world. Has anyone asked Linekar why people pay a fortune and risk their lives to get to the UK from France? Are the Frogs that bad? Plus I like English people, I like their humour. I like their culture. They gave the world Football. Bizarrely I would be an Anglophile. Evolution not revolution. When Britain left most of Ireland the Irish kept a lot of British things that were good, the legal system for example.
Thanks Ciaran. There’s a lot worse places one could live and some better but according to The Guardian we’re living in some kind of fascist hell hole. Which as you say people risk their lives to get to when they could easily apply for asylum in France or anywhere in the EU.
We are governed by a toxic alliance of English nationalist and international oligarchs. That’s what the Tory party has become post Brexit; flag shagging ****ers like 30p Lee Anderson, and representatives of the international super-rich like Rich Rishi the banker’s golden boy. All the decent Tories are gone to the hills, and so is the party of Disraeli, Churchill, MacMillan, and John Major.
The Trade Union movement started in England, quickly spreading to Scotland and Wales. The first successful strike for pay and conditions was the London dock strike of 1889. We were the first European nation to abolish the monarchy, way back in 1649. The Levellers, the Tolpuddle Martyrs, the Chartists, the Suffragettes; all examples of this country’s rich history of protest and dissent. Since WWII we have gone soft, because a couple of generations had it easy. All that is about to change. Half the country is on strike, despite us having the strictest anti Union legislation anywhere in Europe. Watch this space. That said, it is sadly true that we produce more than our share of forelock tugging serfs and ******s like @HRH Custard VC and @DUNCAN DONUTS
