This could go both here and the loan watch, lol.

Gil assisted Lamela for Sevilla’s winner.

Lamela could play a key part in whether Gil stays with Spurs
(In particular conveying his experrience of both managers
and supporters for the two seasons prior to 2015-16) /

Senol Gunes has said he has no plans to include Dele Alli in Besiktas' matchday squads for the remainder of the season

Can somebody round up a Seven Samurai of sports psychologists and have them follow Dele around for a few months, because if his head dropped any lower he might be dressing as Marie Antoinette for Halloween

Easy to find the humour, but actually very concerning with a lad whose MH has been considered fragile.
His decline would have a negative impact on many less 'vulnerable' than Dele.
I hope he has a decent support network!
It's incredibly likely that the hamstring injuries that he was regularly picking up have done him in, because he simply doesn't seem to have that explosive half yard of pace he had at his peak, and because of that he's been playing in his head for at least three years now

It's similar to how Fernando Torres was playing once the injuries (and Liverpool's inept handling of them) caught up to him and he looked bereft of confidence even if he'd scored

Dele has gone AWOL, Besiktas gave him a few days off but he hasn’t returned and isn’t answering his phone to the club.

For a start I hope he’s alright and is just playing up seeing as he was told he won’t play again but I really think we’ll be seeing an early retirement in the not so distant future.

They don't sound too concerned, to me.
They've made a big point of letting the media know that he won't play.
I can see why he can't be bothered to turn up and that's very unusual for me.

Sounds like they're just trying to **** with him, for whatever reason.
That's assuming that he's not lying, of course. Seems unlikely that he would.

Ironic that Ozil announces his retirement from football on the same day that Dele disappears from his football club.

Turns out he wasn't better than Ozil after all. Shame. He could've been.

Entirely different players. But a massive shame. I don’t know what derailed his career but I hope he can still fix it somehow.
