Been going through my mind also regarding the captain and if he's already on a yellow then it's a sending off and the vice captain takes the responsibility. It's clearly cheating to gain advantage and a disgusting sight in a game of football.
I heard talk the other day of VAR being extended to the EFL next season. Whilst I'm somewhat sceptical of the VAR I've seen so far,it may well be,that had it been available last night, their second goal would have been ruled out?
I'd agree with you there. I appreciate everyone's comments ... ... I do think people become annoyed when opinion is posted as.fact though. None of us know how Neil will turn out, certain players don't find their feet or position at first. The Sunderland coaches persevered with Dave Watson as a centre forward and he was decent never played for England there though.
Agree. I think there's a tendency to judge players on how they are now, which is fine with an experienced pro who is edging towards the end of his playing time. However,I don't think enough consideration is being given by some towards the possibility( probability) that many of our young squad will career-definingly improve with the training, coaching and playing experience they are getting with us. If,in a year or two, we were to sell Dan Neil to a top PL club for a lot of money...a la Jordan...and he was then subsequently to lift a top trophy,I might be forced to bump some of the present time posts being made on here!
It's an interesting point. Mate who I go to the match with bemoans the fact that we never surround the ref, go down with head injuries etc. I'm not sure I want my football team to do that, but there are times where we could be less naïve
I don't think we should compromise our values. Quality football always wins in the end. Last couple of minutes of a close match,ok,time waste a bit,but let's not get hung up on it.
Haven't bothered much about this game, went to see a dear friend in hospital yesterday, he's been struggling with what he thought was sciatica for the past 5 months, not getting a lot of GP support other than pain killers. Took him into hospital Tuesday had his scans and it's cancer of the lower spine with secondary in his liver. Not terminal but life changing, he'll never walk again unaided, until this he was generally a fit 82 year old. You just never know what's round the corner. As for the match appears the feckless officials have done us again. Couldn't bring myself to watch Sky last night. Sh1t happens, sorry to derail the thread a bit.
Yeah it's an interesting issue. On balance I'd prefer us to carry on as we are as a relatively honest team. It's something we can be proud of and besides, looking at the direction Dreyfus is taking the club in we'll be good enough to win stuff regardless.
Tend to agree. Time-wasting boils my piss and the way the ref just let Sheff Utd slow the game down towards the end was a disgrace
