You're also assuming that all those guys would be happy to stick around as 'squad players', who might barely get a look in. Not everyone wants to sit on the bench, or worse still, not even make the bench. We've already seen the likes of Wood and Shelvey push for transfers for rhe benefit of their own careers. Yes we need more quality in depth, but you also can't just assume we'll have a huge squad full of good players - at least not for a few more transfer windows. And even then, probably only if we've had some success, or a least a run in Europe, to help both attract and retain good players.
Understood but if we do get into Europa League next season, Longstaff, Willock, Lascelles, Targett etc will definitely be needed. We've had depth issues already in a non-european season, next season we're going to need all the depth we can get. Isak, Wilson, Bruno have already struggled enough this season with injury, thank christ we have fitness beasts like Willock, Joelinton, schar, botman and Almiron. Even if you're not absolute first choice, you'll likely get plenty of game time.
