Really frustrating. Must admit, defeat felt inevitable when they equalised. I feel we’re far too soft, it’s a big summer ahead. Let’s see the ambition they’ve got…
Few thoughts, Out muscled overall but pretty even. Mowbray needs to recognise when players are shattered. The officials here are worse than league 1
I thought Gooch did well in midfield when he came on, until our curse of the left backs hit us again and he had to switch positions. We stayed in the game and created a couple of good opportunities. Chances were very few and far between for both teams, but unfortunately we were outdone by a poor linesman and a team who looked bang up for this match from the get go. I bet they haven't played like that over the last 4 games. The good thing is that we've done enough to earn another crack at this league next season and the players can be proud of what they have achieved. I think it's obvious to everyone that we need greater physicality to match the flair and I'm sure that will be addressed in the summer along with the cover for all positions. Let's just enjoy watching these youngsters learning their trade and look forward to being a stronger, more experienced outfit in August.
I’m concerned about losing a few. Thought Cirkin would be one of the first sold for decent money under this model but his injuries may keep him here. Surely there’s strong interest in Patterson and Stewart. Neil also.
Criminal officiating yet again, that wasn’t even a difficult decision for the fat little bastard running the line. My seat is on the six yard line at that end of the stadium and you could see that they stood in an offside position before the free kick was taken and never at any time were in an onside position. I’m actually astounded as to how he never saw it and it begs the question of bias. Fat ****ing pleb
Disappointing night, and frustrating that another inept ref has cost us, but let's face it - Sheff Utd could and should have been out of sight after the first 20 mins Plenty of positives, but need a result on Sat now to get some momentum going
They're a decent side and it took a bollocks goal to beat us, despite loads of injuries, despite the striker situation. Patience, this squad has bags of potential.
It had to be they had 3 players off when the ball is played in. If they do nothing it's a goal plain and simple, but one of them goes to try and head it that is offside
Exactly and what good does it do us now. Just do your job first time of asking. Not often I get angry at refs or decisions but fuming with that decision and a few others. Ref good 1st half terrible 2nd half linesman totally pointless cant/ isn't allowed to even give a throw in without looking to see which way the ref thinks it should be. I'm on a rant so might as well get it out when will a goalkeeper get booked for wasting time instead of being repeatedly told to hurry up. Book him he won't do it again. Anyway I'll probably look at this post in the morning and think ya daft owld bugger.
If I may explain, why I post about Dan this way. He has been built up as a shining new light, a player with all the right stats, and 1 of our own. If you take off the red and white glasses, you will see a bang average midfield player who will stagnate ad just that. I honestly hope he turns into a world beater. But at the minute, we need a leader in midfield. Cos with the rest of the starting 11, we are a soft touch.
Not disagreeing with you. I rate Neil but he hasn’t exactly been in sparkling form recently. I do think, when firing on all cylinders, he’s a step or two above “bang average” mind. But Who is thus leader? Ekwah? He almost cost us the game on Sunday by giving the ball away time after time. We don’t have that leader without Evans? Maybe O’Nien? I can’t see anyone else who is the leader we need (and I agree, we need one)
Interesting that TM said about Michut, "He'll be a much much better player next year". Hope that means we're taking up the option to buy him.
Haven't read this thread, will do tomorrow. Thought 09 was poor on the ball, put us under pressure with his passing. Awaiting Roker Report markings, we shall see.
