He has gone to a lot of the games , It seems he was genuinely ill! lets hope he backs this up with an interview with Jon Marks! http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2511247,00.html?
For some reason it reminds me of the cocky schoolboy who does something wrong that he cannot cover up. He then pleads that it was not his fault.
I listened to half of it today and was very disappointed he didnt turn up, hopefully he can arrange to answer fans questions another way. And thought that Graham Taylor was class
Absolute crap. He's had a whole day and that's the excuse he comes up with? If he was that ill all this time why would he pull out with just a few hours to go. I don't believe a word this guy says. Note that he "understands" certain things were covered....he didn't even listen to it on the radio?? Dodgy as hell. The sooner we are shot of him the better....come on Elton or somebody.
My fear is that GT walks away from this mess, he does not need the hassle at his time of life. I know he is football through and through, but the battles within the club the no-show last night he could just cut and run and where would we be then? Sailing along without an Admiral at the helm!
Berks has it spot on. I got that he didn't even listen to it...what a plonker. I got the impression last night Al that GT will be going as soon as he feels the ship is on an even keel..and from what i gathered from what he said...the sooner the better
If everything falls into place(fingers crossed) I think he will just walk away and he will never darken our door again, which is a shame for all true WFC fans! But there is a lot of things that need to happen for that to occur, how long it takes is anyones guess!
I reckon that all of the better feelings for the man that had slowly been coming together, have been wiped away in this one event.
I would love to be proved wrong on this, he has talked the talked but he has failed to walk the walk! There are thousands of fans wondering what the hell is going on, myself included!
me too Al...he really did shoot himself in the foot last night, and seems to have put a massive bullet through the club at the same time!
As said elsewhere...its the poor timing. Pulling out of anything at the last minute where you might get a grilling is going to look bad for that person! Also he hasn't done an interview with either 3CR or the WST despite being asked to..
There are so many conflicting bits and pieces that I read from people who know him or have had business dealings with him, that it becomes almost impossible to work him out. Maybe that is what he wants, but he is a total fool if he believes that we are all being taken in by every word that he utters. With regard to GT, Baz cannot get rid of him otherwise the bond holders can call them in. However I don't think that applies if GT walks. Should life become totally intolerable for his dealings with him, then the constructive dismissal argument could hardly be applied. My best guess is that Baz was actually frightened to face people who might ask him awkward questions. The ones that we sent were not designed to be hostile, but probing. Maybe that was why we seemed to be the only ones who had a question used. I suspect that he has a big flaw in his character, knows it, and tries not to have it shown up. I suggested that he might be a front man, although who would choose someone so lacking in PR skills is beyond me. What was said last night was that should he fail to keeps the terms of the buy out agreement, LA would pick up the reigns again until someone else was found.
It just seems a very strange way to do business, but I will gladly apologise if everything he has said so far comes into play and we have a four sided ground, the Red Lion up and running into whatever format, the club stable financially and us still in this division pushing for the play-offs. Not too much to ask, is it?
