3 managers have tried to get a tune out of these players. Pep or Klopp would struggle to make them even a mid table side. Every new player just gets sucked into this vortex of mediocrity.
Edozie can actually beat a man and control a football. He doesn’t fit in with the Southampton way. Unless you aimlessly pass it backwards and sideways before giving it away, you’re relegated to the B team.

We bought DCC in the summer when we shipped Bednarek off. Orsic was signed right at the start of Jan so maybe Sulemana wasn’t seen as an option til later? Orsic was definitely a weird signing though
I really thought DCC would be our best CB this season. Mainly it seems that our recruitment like to buy people around the dangerous 15-20m price range. There is so much bang average being bought for that amount these days. You really have to be brave and get up to 30-40m before you find the proper game-changers.
Yeah I snuck that in as you were quoting! I get your point, and like I say I'm not writing him off completely (as that'd be absurd at his point), but there's no comparison between the two* imo and he's certainly not what we needed at this point in time. *Despite a lot writing Mane off early on there were still plenty who saw a player in there right from the off. Not sure many people are as confident with Sulemana.
I still think he probably is our best centre back with ABK. Just doesn’t seem to have the attitude. He was very highly rated a few years ago and was linked with top teams so maybe his attitude is the reason he ended up here
Probably for 50% of what we paid, as we realise our wage bill is 150% of turnover in the champ as we have signed yet again another bloated squad deprived of real quality
