Something in the teens. 15c probably. It feels colder though... Wind blowing hard and it was barely above freezing when I left the house this am. I'm half being silly joking... But it really does feel cold when it's been in the twenties (C) for weeks and suddenly drops so much. The freeze killed a bunch of leaves on plants that thought winter was over. Looks like this is the norm for the next ten days... Barely above freezing every am and teens in the afternoon.
Been weird here lately. It was fairly warm (for winter) Monday morning, snowing/freezing cold at lunch, sunshine in the afternoon and raining later on
For the 1st time in my life I experienced the odd phenomena of walking in my front door, sunny day to walking out my back door into pissing down rain. Weather is incredibly changeable at the moment
I used to live on a corner property and so could look out my window down the street on the hill. We would get rain showers in summer and I could see the edge of the rainfall by where the road was dark. Because the rain came down heavy there would be a sharp line of dark wet road and light dry road. I would watch the rain come up the hill... And then stop, always like two houses down. It was the weirdest thing how half the time it rained the rain wouldn't make it up the hill and stop at the neighbours house.
My company car has been called in and we have changed from having a small choice of manufacturer to just BMW. we have also changed to full electric, no use to me with the long trips I have to do, or hybrid. I have two choices 3 series 330e tourer or X3 330e X line. Leaning towards the X Line as it is a bit more roomy inside and has a slightly bigger boot. Anyone any experience of BMW 3 series tourer or X3. Other option is take a monthly payment and run my own car, lot of hassle though.
Think the monthly cash option is about £800, so after tax £480, but I would have to put a deposit down and as I am retiring in the next two years not worth it.
They stick rigidly to the car scheme of a cash amount depending on grade. As I only have a maximum of two years to go if I left they would just assume early retirement. They also pay me a hefty wage which I would probably struggle to get elsewhere with only a short time to retirement. Finally I enjoy working for them as they leave me to do what I want within reason. I could go elsewhere and have some arse of a director chucking his weight about so very happy where I am.
Funny the two sides of the human position. Yesterday took my daughter to the hospital, finished up and trying to pay for parking, card reader didn't work, had no cash. Lad behind me asked how much I needed and paid for me. I thought that was beautiful. Today, running the line at an under 12 game, got called a fat scouse bastard and a cheat. I'll repeat an under 12s match. Funny really.
it's amazing really, people who god to hospitals are visiting or bringing folk and demonstrate caring where as any arsehole can be forced to stand at a kids football game and be a complete arse. teaching the kids well as well.
I miss being call a bald {insert insult} at footy; always meant I was doing my job and getting under the opposition's skin. Don't play competitively anymore
Been saying this for a long time - the disrespectful behaviour of pro footballers is a terrible example to kids, and if their own parents act in this way what chance have they got? Football needs to address the way players and staff behave towards each other and the officials. Whether or not the officials are good enough is a different argument - the position needs to be respected, even if the individual isn't. A few of my non-football friends are surprised that I love the game, because all they see is a bunch of foul-mouthed hooligans playing and watching it. Sometimes it's hard to argue with them, tbh.
