news is in. bajcetic is ****ed Henderson is still "ill" not even travelled. 424 inbound? milner and fabinho to start? **** knows. maybe Arthur will run the show lol.
they called it stress injury so they will be waiting to see if it settled down high really means they will crock him like they crocked.several other players
I'd like a decent performance, I'm not expecting to much from the tie. But I still get excited by Europe, maybe not as much as back in the day when European competition was more exclusive, but its still there.
oh yeah we tossed him out to have diaz in who won't be fit for the last game we play in the CL.... hilarious really. (not that i'd have done a thing differently)
right. possible line ups??? Alisson Trent Konate VVD Robertson Fairly sure we all agree? Fabinho milner (go for a double six no nonsense approach??? Salah Gakpo Nunez Jota (4 up or a 4231 with gakpo behind?) I am not so sure about this and fear we will go with the standard 433 with elliott out of position and struggling as per. remember this is what we play against Courtois Carvajal Militao Rudiger Nacho Modric Tchouameni Kroos Valverde Benzema, Vinicius The second nacho came on salah was total negated at anfield. We are not even mentioning camavinga in midfield.
We either buy really delicate wall flowers or our training/ playing regime is ****ing our players up as shown in the injured chart somebody else posted. This really is getting beyond a joke.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/64882764 greatest comebacks spurs 3-2 away. win on away goals 3-3 (I don't know why this **** is even on the list) LFC 4 barca 0 - HOME PSG 1 Man Utd 3 AWAY win on away goals 3-3 Roma 3 Barca 0 HOME win on away goals 4-4 Barca 6 PSG 1 HOME - Win 6-5. Milan 3 LFC 3 - Pen win in final Deportivo 4 AC milan 0 HOME 5-4 Man utd 2 Bayern 1 (final) Ok its last 2 mins in injury time but **** off bbc, this is not a massive comeback. If you exclude the finals then you've got big deficits being over turned at home with the biggest turn about being spurs in that second half with the hat trick. The other thing to note is away goals helped a LOT. We are going away from home to one of the biggest grounds in Europe, against the best team left in the competition. We are actually LUCKY theres no away goals to put us out. We need to win by 3 goals on the night to take this to extra time/pens. Nobody has turned that level of deficit around away from home by the look of things.
If we look though the list of injuries Diaz knee injury - impact injury - reinjured after treatment plan failed and he went own in training camp Trent - ankle injury before world cup - impact injury Matip - multiple muscle injuries Jones- litany of muscle injuries after stress fracture injury (again mismanaged) Arthur - came injured and pulled muscle in training Oxlade - hamstring injury in 45minute of preseason Jota - reinjured after being over played. Muscular Kieta - muscular injuries. robertson knee injury v napoli konate muscular injuries, diving in and stretching. thiago muscular injuries gomez muscular injury VVD muscular injury milner muscular injury Nunez, sent off, muscular injury, shoulder knock mix if impact and muscular firmino multiple muscular injuries carvalho illness and injury Bajcetic Hip and now another muscular injury There are a huge amount of muscular injuries that either relate to over playing, bad warm ups, rushing players back or whatever. We only really had the Daiz, robbo, trent and nunez impact injuries only 1 of those has been significant. If we compare this to our good seasons theres far far far too many player pulling up with muscle strains. Something has to be off in preparation or just walking wounded stuff.
It's only relevant if people were convinced we were going to win. Since noone expects us to win, it irrelevant. The whole point is not that we're likely to win, the point is we still can win and it's foolish to give up while there is still a chance. It's very important we get into Champions League next year and so to throw away one possible route to it would be foolish. You put out a team and tell them to try to win. You don't tell them sit back for 90 mins and try to not to be embarrassed. Lose 5-0 or draw 0-0 it's the same outcome at the end of the day, so you have to try to win, even if you get beaten on the day. And if we do win 0-3 it still won't be the biggest upset we've ever had (or Real's biggest defeat ever). If we lose 5-0, meh, we tried, nothing lost that didn't already look lost... Move onto the next game.
