All quiet on the western front. Rather aptly that's what I'm watching on Netflix right now.

I can't see how Boris's loan arranger can be allowed to keep his job ....

... an unprecedented crisis at the BBC and the chairman is hiding under his desk.

Boris gave him the highly paid job which looks like another huge blunder.

That was noted yesterday, even by a BBC journalist, how he's not responding, hiding from the controversy. Poor show really.

Perhaps he's simply spending a little leisure time with his friend Boris <laugh>

    Oooh Elon Musk piles in.

Still, freedom of speech AND freedom from consequences applies to all, so it's fine.

That's what pizzes the 'establishment' off.

Although Lineker gets part of his earnings from the BBC he has other sources of income. Whether he is right or wrong, they can't shut him up.

For some reason the far right tory loons want to close the BBC down/license fee. With the advent of streaming the Beeb has to evolve.

Will use excuses to have a pop

Just goes to shows impartiality and integrity are at the core of the bbc values....

The email, sent to correspondents at just after 6pm on the day lockdown was announced, was labelled: IMPORTANT ADVISORY – language re broadcast.
“Hi all – D st are asking if we can avoid the word ‘lockdown’. I’m told the message will be that they want to keep pushing people to stay at home but they are not talking about enforcement at the moment,” it said.

Reporters argued unsuccessfully against the advice and the website and broadcasts on that day used the term “curbs” and “restrictions” on daily life, while other outlets, such as rival broadcaster Sky, were referring to “lockdown”.

The Daily Mail splashed “Lockdown Britain” across its front page the next morning, while the Metro headline was “Britain on Lockdown”.

Also, WhatsApp messages reveal reporters also told to be more critical of Labour

What's the evil reason for doing it though? We're automatically assuming that there's a nefarious reason behind it, but it's only the BBC asked to do it despite the government having the power in extremis to shut it all down with a D notice?

As we saw, screaming lockdown from every outlet wasn't a good thing. Panicked an entire population.

Seems entirely sensible to me. It's just asking for assistance in getting the message across in the right way during a time of national (international) emergency.
