https://www.gov.uk/government/stati...igration-to-the-uk-year-ending-september-2022 Again I might be reading the figures wrong, but this surely is far beyond the figures you quoted (and it’s official). To be fair, I haven’t added each figure up from the chart shown. But then again it only goes up to Sep 22 so would surely make your figures even more wrong
The numbers I transcribed were from here, which is quoting Home Office figures.... Where do small boat migrants come from? As EU blamed for Channel crisis, we look at the stats - Scottish Daily Express Here's a Home Office link... Irregular migration to the UK, year ending June 2022 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Where did your number come from?
Yes, it's the same link I posted. You'll need to add up up all the numbers in the tables to verify the Scottish Express's figures. I can't be arsed.
It’s not the same link, as the one I posted goes up to Sept 2022. However the figure quoted on the official website is going to already be more than the figures you posted. And as I’ve said before, that is just to Sep 2022 so the figures you quoted in your original post really are incorrect (to date) Glad we’ve sorted that out. I’ll get back to my series
Here are some numbers up to the end of 2022..... Irregular migration to the UK, year ending December 2022 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Small boat crossings... 2022 45,755 2021 28,526 2020 8,466 2019 1,843 2018 299 TOTAL 84,889 Where's the bullshit?
Illegal immigrants only come by boat then ? So your figures from your OP are clearly out of date and therefore meaningless to your point. I know you have a thing for uncontrolled immigration Strolls, but at least show us the real picture
I was quoting numbers for small boat crossings mate, have another look. As I said, you seem to be comparing apples with oranges. The numbers from my OP were from the Scottish Daily Express of 10/03/23, quoting Home Office figures for small boat crossings up to the end of 2022. The totals do differ slightly from the numbers I subsequently got from the Home Office site myself, but only by 1,600. You've already dug a big hole for yourself mate - stop digging. And finally there you go with the last resort of the immigrant haters, labelling anyone who defends asylum seekers in any way as wanting completely open borders. Just not true.
So now you admit you were just showing figures of one part of illegal immigration, thus negating your argument even more ! To be fair Strolls…….you do come across as wanting open borders.
But as I’ve already pointed out…..illegal immigration isn’t just about “small boats” and gives a distorted picture of the problem. We’ll leave it there as you are obviously getting upset. Have a good night
It is, if a migrant does so knowing he required a visa or leave to enter.( s.24 Immigration Act 1971) And paying organised crime to get in, is a bit of a giveaway. This will change with government's new act, which passed its first reading yesterday, which will be retrospective. Anyone coming in illegally will be barred from claiming asylum. As I understand it, legal routes will clarified for asylum seekers, and there will be an annual cap. The immigrant problem is a worldwide issue, 100 million or so on the move. The UK, indeed Europe, can't be exposed to all of them. There's movement in Europe, Denmark for example, to do the same thing. The question whether we have to leave the ECHR is open.
