I'm hoping we see both play somewhere down the line.

    Your thoughts?

    Personally don’t think it’s possible.
According to EH Isak isn’t fit enough to last a game and it he can’t then sure as **** can Wilson last it.

Yeah agree with DDP - can't see them both playing together unless we are desperate for a goal. Part due to fitness issues for both, doesn't make sense to risk both at the same time and also partly down to the formation, think with Murphy, Ritchie backing up ASM, Gordon and Almiron for the wide positions I can't see Eddie using Isak out wide bar an injury crisis.

Think Isak has cemented his place as striking starter for the next few weeks - looks like he's finding his feet after the last few sub appearances but he was quality on Sunday, lots of good runs in behind, linking up with the players around him, him and ASM linking up on the left will have a lot of teams worried and covering that side leaving room for Miggy over the other side or Bruno, Joelinton, Willock or Longstaff getting into the box from deep.

I dunno, there were quite a few moments yesterday when it seemed like a poacher was missing, ie good balls and crosses into the area and no one to finish them.

This is generally cos Isak likes to take players on down the wing and get into the area, rather than just take up a striker position and wait for crosses.

The problem is Wilson is dross right now, and Gordon, Almirion or Murphy in the team ahead of him makes sense.

Neither striker can play a "Eddie Howe 90mins" so the liklihood of seeing them together is low. It would be my preference to see them link up with ASM and either Gordon or Miggy the other side.

Our goal tally doesn't match our play. We need to maximise our goal threat. Wastefulness is ok against Wolves but it cost us against Liverpool, City and in the final. Those are the teams we are up against so need to fire on all cylinders ASAP

Slightly different examples there - we were totally closed down in the final and barely had any decent chances. This was to do with Casimero bossing midfield....and I'm very hopeful about our game in a few weeks against the now he's out.

Liverpool we were ok, but limited by having 10 men, against City however we had great chances, and it was really bad not scoring, especially Wilson's howlers.

Wolves we should have won by more, my biggest problem here was that we put great crosses into the box, but there was no poacher to finish them off. Now Miggy is back in the goals he might start doing this, also Joelinton and Gordon may be able to. Isak can to some extent, but he seems to like breaking into the box rather than being a target man.

Time will tell. Hopefully we have had our blip (it lasted a while) and I would like to think things will revert. Losing Casemeiro is a massive blow. If we make hay, we could close them down. Win our games in hand and beat them, we are 3rd on goal difference <laugh>

It's just our ****ing luck that Casemeiro was in the final and out for this. He single handedly won that game for them by dominating everything in midfield and restricting us to lame attacks down the wings.

But anyway, a poacher striker is a must in the summer, but for now we can hopefully go on a run as things are.
