In a shocking turn of events the BBC's 'football highlights' show contains nothing but highlights of football.

According to the BBC’s Lizo Mzimba, last night’s Match of the Day was watched by 2.58 million TV viewers on BBC One. Up nearly half a million on last Saturday’s figure of 2.09 million according to the BARB overnights. This was the show’s biggest audience this year.

An impressive audience increase of 23.4% for the new format platitude and cliché free version of Match of the Day. Political fans of Lineker are claiming that this it is due to rubber-necking, Guido’s pretty certain that they would have been making a very different claim if the #BoycottMOTD campaign had succeeded. Football without punditry could be the future. Would save TV licence fee payers millions…

    1. The BBC's coverage of the WSL match between Chelsea and Manchester United has no presenters
    2. Commentary is being provided by "world feed" commentator Nigel Adderley, with no pundit
    What? No screeching womins?

When you think the programme is usually on for an hour, so that means we get 35 minutes of ex players over analysing everything, 5 minutes of adverts for forthcoming BBC programmes (on a channel that claims to be advert free ;) ), so just extend last night's format to say 45 minutes so we get twice as much football and no waffle and the viewing figures will probably increase even further

    Boycott the BBC.
Cancel your payment of the TV tax.

No one should ever be forced to pay for some other groups political views.

Time for the government to make the licence fee optional.

Timothy Douglas Davie, the BBC head man, was the one that apologised.

There will be no stopping Lineker and his political screeching now.

Apparently he hasn't had second thoughts regarding his 'lay off' he is still on his soap box......'even after a surreal couple of days it's still nothing compared to those fleeing war and persecution to a land far away' he's put out.... The cast majority of those fleeing Gaz are young males ;).... maybe their women folk are made of sterner stuff eh

It’s a good day for those of us in the wokerati.

Personally, I’m made up that left leaning Celebs can now undermine the government with impunity.

marvellous news that the Great Gary forced those miserable bbc managers to apologise.

It’s written for my own benefit mate. If I chuckle as I type, i am happy. A fish or two on the hook is a bonus (and that’s still possible, our fish are hungry little sods).
