That’s just muddying the waters, Richi Sunak will never experience the effects of overcrowding in the NHS either . <doh>Are you really suggesting wealthy people don’t have the right to voice their opinions,

Don’t even start on Tax and our PM.

Gary Lineker has had an influence on the BBC, his colleagues and how the corporation is perceived.

The way the situation has been dealt with has had that affect , that’s not his fault but the fault of management, the situation now seems to be resolved, shame they didn’t do this earlier. Then they wouldn’t have had to have apologised and make themselves look like”twats” as Red Alert so eloquently put it.

Is that the BBC have not sacked Gary Lineker. The BBC said there was need to reach an agreement about social media use. We do not know what that agreement is.

They have apologised to Gary Lineker , that is an admission they were wrong in the way they dealt with the issue.

They initially said he wouldn’t present MOTD unless he did an apology. Now THEY have apologised and he’s back presenting MOTD.

It’s a different matter altogether coming to an agreed arrangement rather than forcing something on people.

They were trying to say he’d gone over the guidelines they had in place, and so were trying to force him to fall in line. They have now stepped back from their initial stance and agreed to do an independent review, who will look at both sides of the argument ( because that’s what independent reviews do).

Ive not seen if this review is binding, or will only come up With recommendations.

Regardless of the BBC issues, personally I don't agree with Lineker's rhetoric nor that he needed to tweet it - he always seems to be on some sort of mission.

I don't do any form of social media personally as I don't feel the need. Maybe it's because of that I just don't get what all the fuss is about.

I probably live in a windowless world unlike Lineker who seems to be constantly looking out of his glasshouse in pursuit of a cause and using his public persona as a platform.

    Apologies ... I don't know.

I listened to Tim Davie. He did not mention apology. He did state that between now and the review of social media guidelines, Gary Lineker has agreed to abide by editorial guidelines.

Sky reported that the BBC had apologised, and there is going to be an independent review.I assume it’s correct, obviously it’s a fast moving item

    I quite agree
And because Sir Hindsight made absolutely no reference to illegal immigration, let alone trying to stop it when Labour most likely win the next election in his recent guff that he spouted is because the Labour Party and way too many Conservative MPs are quite happy with undocumented illegals arriving here in their tens of thousands, putting more and more pressure on authorities, forcing the taxpayers into parting with money that would be far better spent elsewhere, and seriously pi$$ing off local communities where they are housed.
You’d never know it, but it is illegal to enter the UK without permission or any documentation

France will take our billions and do the bare minimum.

As a sovereign nation we need to take matters into our own hands, turn the boats back and to hell with the consequences

Then we need to start clearing the hotels and getting rid of 90% the single young men who’ve left their women and kids behind, and who have come here to game our ridiculously poor systems when they’ve no right to be in our country.

evolution does not happen everywhere at the same time and evolution is not just apes becoming humans as history has believed. EVOLUTION COVERS EVERYTHING

The civilised western world has evolved along with Far east through thick and thin ... by working at it ... some strides have been through wars / famines/ climate/ perseverance. Should the eastern african countries not spent time killing each other and eating the vast amounts of seeds we sent or flogged off aids to help with water management they wouldnt be taking the easy way out and attempting to sponge off those have worked to get where they are.

A shop keeper from Mogadishu Sells up puts money in the bank then hikes a ride on a rubber dingy gets rescued by our volunteer lifeboat service pleads persecution takes what he can for freebies before living off the sale of his homeland business ... with free health care cash handouts for each kid .... is that how it works?

We all have the liberty to express our own views, that's what living in a democracy represents. Freedom of speech is a precious commodity. The BBC have misread the football community's moral compass.
    @GaryLineker has my unconditional support.

The only caveat to me fully supporting this is if there is something in GLs contract about not making political comments on social media.
Clarkson seemed to get away with making all sorts of dodgy comments without being suspended.

Bit ironic saying on a social media site that you don’t do social media <laugh>.

Any way incase anyone didn’t notice City won 2-0 and Cardiff didn’t on the weekend.

unless you’re a Tory like Jeremy Clarkson who isn’t allowed an opinion
At which point the whole hand wringing brigade show up
    Double standards as per usual
    Unless you’re a leftie
In which case it’s business as usual
