Their next PL game is against us. We have two more matches to play first. We need to be going to the Olympic Stadium ahead of them.
I said it was a good point. It only feels like a loss because we deserved the win. We hit the woodwork twice, missed a 1 on 1 and had a shot cleared off the line! Can't crticise the team, but we were so close to winning that it feels as though we should have taken more than a point
Not sure if that is a good or bad point. Definitely would have taken it before the game and still really in the mix. Played well but just not clinical enough.
If you offered that 2 hours ago I would have taken it but I am slightly disappointed with Saints not winning considering United were down to 10 men for most of the game and the number of shots on goal. However, looking at the bigger picture since Selles took over that is 2 wins, 1 draw, 1 lost in the Premier League with 3 clean sheets and only 1 goal conceded. If Saints can start scoring then everything will get less stressful.
Bazunu also earned that clean sheet - it wasn't a fluke. Utd with 10 men are still > Saints with 11, so not too sad with a point. Selles looks like a manger, talks like a manager and gets the results of a manger. If we go down this year that is on Nathan Jones. The twat
Well yea, put it anyway you want, the amount of chances we had and not scoring against 10 men is criminal.
It is intensely frustrating to think that even if we sacked Jones a single match earlier (hell, or at halftime of the Wolves match) our position could look so much different. Had we won 1-0, we'd be 16th right now.
Bazunu very good, all of the defence fantastic. Midfield looks much more reassuring. Just need the attack to start firing. Not sure if Sulemana is the answer yet.
Good in the sense that it was Man United away. bad in the sense that if that 1 on 1 fell to anyone but Walcott we may of scored and if that cross fell to anyone but Armstrong, probably would of scored. Still demonstrating that we're not great in-front of goal but managing a performance that showed that we have some fight in us.
Ah, fair enough. But considering how utterly ****ing depressing about 90% of this season has been, a point away against the team third in the league - in a game where we all budgeted for nothing - won't get me too down. I expected us to need four wins and a couple of draws to survive. Well, we've got one of the draws now - and confidence should still be up ahead of Brentford midweek. Win that and we lift ourselves to 16th.
Agree, both were class today. But they seem to step up against big six clubs and then let us down against less prestigious opposition. We need to see this effort consistently, and we can stay up. Instead of them just putting themselves in the shop window
Na I agree with you. I'm not annoyed at the result , just frustrated as I think most other teams in the league take atleast one of the chances we had today. Theo through one on one about sums up our attacking pedigree this season.
