They could have just said they'll deal with in private and then largely ignored it. Its not like anybody would have cared this time next week. Nothing wrong with the comparison Lineker's made although certain aspects of the press want to spin it into something else and make that the story. The language used is that of the era of 1930's Germany. In fact it was also OUR use of language during that time towards jewish refugees fleeing Germany as the Nazis came to power circa 1932/33. Words like invasion and swamping were used to demonise refugees along with tightening restrictions to prevent them being allowed in. Lineker knew precisely what he was saying and its accuracy. Of course a lot of this has been whitewashed by the events of WW2, but prior to it, in 1930's it was very much the case. It really is just the same old ****e rehashed every time the right wing want to stoke up propaganda to demonise foreigners. Like somehow this time it's different.

See, this is where the keft and right collide and it pisses people off. 99.9 are criminal Albanians. No there not They should all have a chance at asylum. No they shouldn't. As with most issues, a bit of common sense wouldn't go amiss. If you arrive in the country illegally, then you will deported without any say. But this must also go hand in hand with an actual immigration and asylum policy that actually works and allows people to actually claim it. At the moment the conservatives have ****ed it up so royally, that the only way for the majority to claim asylum is by illegal entry then claim, the back log of claiments that have legally applied is absolutely massive. Why bother crossing the channel? Why not just stay in mainland Europe if you’re fleeing war torn countries? Once you’ve hit france Spain Portugal, nicer weather and you’re out the country you were fleeing. Why then risk life to get in a small boat to come to england?
