and I’m the one with my own bales apparently! You’re spot on btw. It’s all to play for. Better than the mundane drudgery of midtable.
Don't mind losing, playing crap or even getting relegated. What I find difficult to stomach however is fans at ER booing the team when we're 0-1 down and then again at 1-2. Really disappointing to hear, as well as the many moans of disapproval aimed at the players today. If Bamford hadn't scored when he did then it was going to turn toxic, which is exactly what we don't need with plenty of games left to save ourselves. Seems some fans can only support us in the good times.
Think Villa will win the most boring season by some distance. Not in Europe, not getting in Europe, not going down and knocked out of both cups early.
That came across on tv too Jammy and sounded awful. For the umpteenth time I’ll repeat do these fans not realise how lucky they are to live near enough to use their season tickets and they represent the hundreds of thousands of us worldwide that can only attend occasionally or not at all. I’ve been known to have the odd moan but never at a game and certainly wasn’t anything to moan about today. Roll on Easter weekend
i understand the frustration, and I kind of get the argument about if you’re not happy about something you’ve paid to see you should be able to express it…. but it’s just counter-productive… the team don’t need the crowd to tell them they’re playing sh*t… very few players have the mentality that booing them will make them play better. Get behind the team at the ground… bitch about them to your Mrs, your mates in the pub.. your favourite football forum… if you need to get it off your chest
Made me feel sick to my stomach Eire. Not happy at all and the players deserved better than that as they gave their all to get something from the game.
Totally understandable and I agree. They couldn’t have done more today. Can’t wait for the Palace game where I will lend my voice to hopefully a fully supportive fan base that day. Will be my last trip this season and who knows might be my last time to see Leeds in pl. certainly hope not but not all that relevant at my vintage. Some of our guys have hardly missed a home game this season and we have a collective moan on WhatsApp groups etc but leave it outside the ground when there
I remember all the stick Chris wood got. Then he started banging them in… couldn’t leave quick enough when the chance came - then people complain that there’s no loyalty in football. Similar with paddy… that ear celebration when he scored The audible sigh of disappointment when bielsa brought Roberts on. It’s not the players fault the manager wanted to play him. The treatment of jay roy grot… a teenager in a foreign country. Best fans in the world if we say so ourselves
Well you pays your money.... always remember one plank in the family stand always criticizing viduks no matter what he did and when he scored 4 v Scouse he was still insisting he was a lazy Aussie git and he was lucky that one of the goals went between the defenders legs on the line .....I think he was dumped by a Joey maybe or drank that **** Foster's
Aussies don't drink Fosters/ The biggest selling beer here, by far, is Victorian Bitter (VB). Just saying..........
I was desperate for us to become the twelfth man at that point and so glad Bamford banged that goal in. It was too early for me for the crowd to get on their backs but the days are gone when we got straight behind them when we went a goal down sadly.
Sad to read that. Just a thought from an outsider sort of here. When Bates was in charge we averaged 22k home crowd. I’d call them die hards as all who travelled over at that time. Since the Bielsa revival Elland road is a sell out every week. That brings me to the extra 14 k fans. Are they die hards or is there an element of glory hunters in there spoiled by last four seasons and they’re the ones prone to booing players. I suspect it’s the case
Didn't watch or hear anything yesterday but yeah, the ER crowd can be disgraceful at times. I'll have a moan on here but when at the games you've got to be fully behind the players and manager. The only time I'd ever have a go is if someone is clearly not trying and I don't recall anything like that happening with this lot. Eire brings up a good point though and it's the reason I quote you Jamster. You regularly criticise the lads who enjoyed League 1 but the crowd, although much smaller, were definitely "in it together". I think that crowd that were there were the most partisan I've seen at ER.
I think our season is defined by Leicester, Forest and Palace at home and Bournemouth away. There's 12 points there if we can take them, anything else is a bonus, like doing a Bournemouth on the Scousers. 35 points might just be enough this season.
It was irony....viduka was **** no matter what he did according to him so I quoted a **** drink..... just saying
