Wishful thinking. Again. Anyway, back to reality, sounded like we tantalised and flirted the fantastic away support with 3 points, alas, same old, could/should have scored before they equalised. A good away point & performance against one of the better teams. I would have taken a point before the game, so all in all, a fair result. Some great performances, notably Sean Macca, to think he couldn’t get into the side at start of season. Unbelievable. Matty Ingram may find it a tad harder to get back into the first team with Darlow’s performances. Fingers crossed that Tetteh’s injury isn’t too bad. Safe journey home to the travelling support, heard you all loud and proud. UTT. ⚽️
If I lived in Hull and had planned on going by train I may have changed to coach but it would have depended on the train joiurney.
Was thinking about the injuries.... Sean Mc and Alfie have played every minute and have to stand up, jump, lunge, block etc and just pick themselves up when they've been kicked and yet others are perpetually injured. I said last week that Tetteh looks like an injury at any second. So interesting to hear LR on Blunderside talking about recruitment and how critical a players injury record will be going forward. I'm sure the teams at the top when a team sheet comes out will more often than not say 'unchanged'...
Great game that we could and should have won. So disappointing not to convert any of the three great chances we had before they scored. The way we wrested back control of the game from them was wonderful, as was Oscar's goal. But the pass from Ebiowei to Sayyadmanesh was shockingly bad. I hope Longman was injured and not just dropped, because with Longman on I think we would have won that.
Overall a good point even though it does neither side much good. Sounded as though we defended very well. Turning defence into attack is a problem we have although today second half was much better. Could and should have got that second before they scored. Looking ahead we know we have the foundations for next season if we can add that bit of quality to turn games like today into wins.
Old Windmill in the center is decent. Fair few City in there today. Good selection of ales and pies. Enjoyable game, great atmosphere but the walk from the rail station to the ground has to be the worst ever!
Decent game and result but not a ground I'll be rushing back to. Bad location, easily done with Tiger Travel which was OK as a one off but not really my bag. Ridiculous over zealous stewards, the one way system was a joke, sent completely the wrong direction, up another flight of stairs then fight my way along the whole row back the way I came to get to my seat. And the constant announcements from about 2.15 onwards telling you to get to your seats! Wtf was that all about. Anyway, makes you realise how lucky we are. Don't think the matchday experience at the MKM is at all bad really
What a dump outside the ground and ****e pubs too. Some good performances from city and some not so good. Real shame about tetteh as the ball stays up with him around. Coventry are a decent team and won't be far of the play offs. Good season for us. If acun hadn't bought us we would be league one bound if not already there
Im not sure I'd use Alfie as the example. When played in midfield, he struggled to play 3 games in a week without pulling up. It's also harsh on Benji as his injury is pretty good in past seasons. Now I don't know which games he was an unused sub, but he played 23/38 last year, 32/38 the year before, and 32/35 and 33/35 in the 2 years before that. That's a pretty good injury record. I think him missing a pre season is what's gone wrong this year
We don't get anything from the price of the ticket, it all goes to the home team. I don't know if we get commission for selling the tickets.
Away teams can charge an administration fee for handling the tickets and that is all they get for league matches. Changed in the 1980s. Used to be 70% to home team, 25% to away teams and 5% to the FA. Everton, Spurs and Man Utd were among the main ones pressing for it to be changed.
Decent game, but should have won, the chances we missed when ahead came back to haunt us as usual. I’ve no idea why we reverted to passing out from the back one they equalised. Messing around in our area yet again, I like our passing style under LR, but there’s a time & a place for it. Also when they were In similar positions, we didn’t harass them at all, just sitting & waiting. Too much time spent looking to get the ball back to the keeper, Coventry weren’t even pressing that hard in their half. Either the players don’t have the confidence to attempt passes or simply aren’t good enough. Pelkas, passenger yet again. I hope we don’t sign him permanently. I know he’s coming back from injury, but what’s that? Second or third time? If LR means he wants players who’ve got a good injury record, then he’ll see Pelkas first hand as being injury prone. Tetteh looks good, but yet another injury for him, I don’t think he’s going to be a long term player for us.
