Harryhood - you are the most blinkered, bitter, delusioned person on here. For ****s sake listen to the other Celtic fans on here - what's bad for Rangers will be equally bad for Celtic in the long run. Your board won't spend decent money just now when they have a challenge from Rangers so they'll spend even less if Rangers arre crippled financially and you'll be watching a pile of ****e at parkhead.
No I will listen to supporters that go to the games , a week on Saturday I will be up in Inverness , I can assure you none of them would want Celtic to help Rangers out of their current financial mess . As I said earlier on this thread go and read Celtic fans on other forum and it's certainly different to the views on here
I'm not asking - and neither is anyone else - for Celtic to help Rangers. What I and others are saying is that you are so bitter and consumed with hate that you cannot see that it would be a disaster for the WHOLE of Scottish football if Rangers go bust. You are pathetic.
Whole of Scottish football !!!non old firm fans have wanted the old firm out for years , well here is a chance to get rid of 50% it might be a good thing for Celtic, it might open different avenues with out been tagged along side Rangers.I might come over as bitter and full of hate , just because my opinion are different to others , can assure that it is totally untrue
OK - did you show the same concern for 'Scottish football' when Celtic had severe financial troubles some years back? Also, do you conclude that Rangers should be given special consideration by the SPL in the event that they do 'go bust' and that the SPL rules on such matters should not be applied to Rangers as "it would be a disaster for the WHOLE of Scottish football................."?
So someone is going to volunteer to surrender there position in a league to allow us to take over? We are stuck here with or without Rangers, we aren't in a stronger position without them that's just wishful thinking I'm afraid, the argument of morons. Every club in Scotland outside Celtic and St Mirren is heavily burdened by debt due to the setanta collapse on top of the financial crisis we all know about. These club could find themselves in the same situation many say Rangers are about to be in. A few unseen costs and if we force too great a punishment on them for the business failing they will not survive, Scottish football will become less attractive and Celtic will also suffer. If you take Rangers out the SPL the turnover for every club will drop significantly, this will force more clubs to do the same as Rangers next thing you know we have sent 4 or 5 clubs to the bottom of the league set up. Is that what you are suggesting? Remember it a business use your head not your heart.
OK TTC - I take it your post was in response to Harry's...... but what, do you think should, or would you like to see, happen in the event that Rangers do 'go bust'?
They won't go bust, they have a lot of assets and a massive turnover and loyal customer base. If any administrator can't make this club solvent he's a ****ing idiot. If the worst happens and a new company is formed it should take over from the current company as far as the sporting side goes and receive a 10 point reduction further to the 10 point reduction already imposed for administration. Business conditions should be imposed and the license granted on condition these are met designed to improve financial stability.
Did Airdrie not come back under a different company name , Rangers if they do that should get the same punishment, otherwise Scottish football. Is a total joke
They may well go bust if the court papers that were leaked during the Martin Bain court case are right. If Rangers are forced to pay an amount above x then Craig Whyte (with the backing of the Board) will allow Rangers to go insolvent. It has been noted by some that if this was to happen the main beneficiary would be Craig Whyte. I'm not an expert so don't know why or even if this is true. If Rangers do go bust then Scottish football will just have to cope as best it can until a suitable replacement is found. It's said that mother nature abhors a vacuum and something will eventually fill the gap. Whether that's a New Rangers is anyone's guess.
A new Airdre bought Clydebank and renamed them, the other airdrie died. Airdrie didn't suffer any punishment they didn't exsist to punish.
This tends to be my line of thinking. It seems to me that the topic of this thread is based on a lot of rumour and speculation although it has produced some interesting comment. To be honest, however, I couldn't care less what happens to Rangers. I'm much more interested in what's going on with Celtic and I don't believe we should get too exercised about Rangers' problems.....that's not to say that I'll not show a passing interest in the outcome of their battle with HMRC!
TTC it is pointless trying to argue the reasonable point. Harry is ****ing idiot and can't see past the end of his snib. If Rangers were to cease to exist then I would imagine the coefficient points we accumulated over the past 5 seasons would no doubt be removed from Scotland. The SPL would probably end up with 2 Europa League qualifier places unseeded and chucked in at the 1st and 2nd stage of qualifying. How much TV revenue would be brought in when there are no old firm games? How many players would want to ply their trade in Scotland, with a ****e weather system and no challenge in the league, and pretty much no hope of getting into Europe?
Rangers won't go bust, worst cas scenario (IMO) will be they enter admin, deducted 10 points, then it'll be as you were.
I'm not saying they are untouchable or they should be allowed to break the rules. At the moment, there is no guilty verdict of any rules being broken. Do you not think if it was clear cut it would have been resolved by now? If they go into administration they will get the same penalty as teams in the past, ie a 10 point penalty This has been pointed out quite a few times on this thread. Your hatred of all things Rangers is shining through.
Read Phils blog , the whole point of this thread, and it was stating that Celtic and other spl clubs were going to insure Rangers got the minimum punishment and ruling out the maximum punishment to save Scottish football. Just because I believe that is wrong and all clubs should be treated the same does not make me an idiot. I've watched my team when we were getting 4 thousand at home , if you believe your mcgarvey and Murdo mccleods they were the great days of Scottish football !!!, if we have to go back to those days so be it
