Has the DG of the Beeb been suspended yet pending clarification of his connections to Bojo at the time of his appointment? So, reading through this stuff about Lineker, it seems many people on here aren't bothered whether our national broadcaster is impartial or not.
Fair enough, but surely anyone working for said organisation should not be airing their political views on air, whatever political hue it is?
Lineker didn't say this stuff on air so it's not the same I suppose, but anyone thinking that the present government in any way resembles the Nazis really should give their head a wobble.

 

He didn’t say they resemble the Nazis.

He said "This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the '30s, and I'm out of order?"

Which is true.

BBC presenters air their political views all the time. It’s just not a problem when it’s in support of the Tories.

If you compare government language to 1930's Germany, you're comparing it to the Nazis.

Here's a proposal for the Left. Let's get rid of the compulsory licence fee, then Jugs can say what he likes.

I could compare Goldie’s views to those of the Nazis but I wouldn’t say he resembles a Nazi. There’s a difference.

 

I’m going to guess they’ve wheeled out Stephen Pollard to say how horrible Lineker is.
