Good job I didn't chalk it up as one of our five wins between now and the end of the season then. :1980_boogie_down:

I wouldn't be starting him at RB, but I'd put him ahead of AMN, and certainly have him on the bench.

He's got to be better than AMN.

He came in and performed far better than I thought he would do. His touch was excellent and he linked up well. Tracked back and defended, only thing missing was an attacking threat.

Wasn’t he the top chance creating full-back in the Championship by a distance or something? Anyway it would seem he can do the attacking bit too. My guess is that he is more used to playing wing-back than full-back, so might take a while to adjust, but he’s also filled in as a CB at Luton, so he seems flexible.

He’s an actual right back for starters. AMN has really bad positioning, and his strength and tackling are both poor.

I’ve said all season that there is a good player in there (AMN), and I’ve been supportive of him right up until the whole RB thing. But he isn’t a natural full back and it’s a matter of time before he gets found out. I didn’t like Djenepo at full back either so maybe it’s just a thing for me. I hate it when we allow opposition to cross the ball too easily etc.

People will say, ‘we kept a clean sheet against Leicester’, but that was down to Iheanacho having an off day rather than sound defending. Just because we keep a clean sheet, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t look to improve the defence.

AMN didn’t get found out against Chelsea, we kept a clean sheet then as well.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more of Bree, but AMN has the experience at this level so have no problem with him being ahead of Bree in the coach’s thinking.

I woke up this morning thinking that I wouldn't be against Che coming back into that ten role, and hustling and bustling, with Tall Paul as the striker. Other than Varane, the defensive unit of MU - Shaw, Casemiro, Martinez, Dalot is pretty small, and TP could give them big problems. I'd like to see Che in that ten role too - takes the pressure off being the key for goals, and I think it could actually suit him.

It was the Chelsea game that actually put the initial doubt in me about AMN. Once Chelsea realised he was positionally vulnerable, everything went down that side. Again it was nothing short of a miracle we kept a clean sheet. Kudos to AMN for the amazing block he made, but he was the weak link in the back four.

Yes. Same here. Che could play that role since his defensive play is decent enough too. Just don’t know if I’d play him with TP, because I think Che needs someone pacey playing with him. Especially as we’ll mostly be playing on the counter. But I get your point about using TP’s height. Could be useful.

Suspect they might pick Wan-Bissaka over Dalot for this one for this reason though. He's taller, quicker (against Sulemana) and better at one on ones. He's not as good a defender, but we're hardly free scoring, so...

He was, but this was almost all from his set pieces so doesnt reflect his actual game.

Bree is an old fashioned right back. He is a solid defender with a good cross, but in terms of overlapping runs and pace to get up and down the entire flank, he is lacking.

I don't think he will fit any system that wants width and attacking threat provided from the full backs.

Dont get me wrong; I want KWP on the right and Perraud on the left - all day long. Bree for me should be back-up at best.

But, I don’t particularly think AMN brings anything to that position that Bree doesn’t. The advantage that Bree has, is that he is a defender; AMN isn’t.

The advantage AMN has as a bench option is that he has played multiple positions. It is his main problem. There is obviously a player in there as you don’t stay at Arsenal (albeit being loaned out a lot) for as long as he he without having something, he is basically a talented player who doesn’t really have a position

I do like the idea of Paul vs Utd's defence.

But then again, I like the idea of Paul vs most defences in this league (or at least until I've seen enough of Paul to be able to form a judgement over whether he is any good).

Would have been if other results went our way.

As it stands, it’s slightly more important now imo. Good thing we are gonna smash them
