Lineker has been suspended from presenting MOTD until agreement reached on social media use.

 

More bollocks from the Beeb. Petition needed, arise sir Gary.

And to keep with the Lineker theme, I seem to recall if the history books are correct, something similar happened in the early 1930s

 

I know I started it as I posted about Lineker, but a gentle reminder that this isn't the politics thread. Any discussion about why he was suspended and the details surrounding it should be taken to that thread. Lineker presents the show that provides highlights of the PL matches, hence why I posted on this thread.

 

Ian Wright not appearing on tomorrow's MOTD now in support of Lineker. Well done BBC, well done.

I guess this is going to come down to who they have as an actual contracted employee who can host and be pundits. As it seems like all / most of the independent contractors are saying no

I'm probably in the minority but I like the idea of MotD without a presenter or pundits.

 

It might actually be better. Either reduced run time or more time for highlights.

 

There might be more discussion about saints with no pundits.

I haven’t watched MOTD for probably 5 years but my old man watches it each week. He always asks if I watched it (despite me saying no every week) and then proceeds to moan about how **** it is as they only show about 90 seconds of highlights then chat about the game for miles longer than they actually show the game. Sounds like no pundits could make it better

 

No pundits - perhaps. But no commentary either might be a step too far for many
