Good, so stay off the personal abuse.. 2 million is being "reported" no one knows the true figures, only those involved..I suspect your owners are playing to your fans...they need to be seen to be playing hard ball so they cannot be accused of "rolling over" for us...you know and I know a deal will be done ,sooner rather than later...neither side will want to look like they have lost face...thats important, especially in this case.
Like I said, you don't get rich by writing a lot of cheques. Most successful businessmen that I've come across as a Company and Commercial solicitor are unbelievably tight. Not many choose to throw money around like your current Chairman. I doubt Allam will take too kindly to being held to ransom. He's obviously well within his rights to demand a large compensation package and given that every man and his dog know you've got plenty of resources, we know you can afford to pay it. Depends how much you want your man. If I were a Leicester fan, I'd want my owner to tell Hull to lump it and pay that £2m to O'Neill as a golden hello. Food for thought.
Old man Allam can be seriously awkward, I'm sure a deal will be sorted sooner or later, but don't be surprised if it's quite a bit later, he's a nightmare to deal with. Him and Nigel don't really get on either, so he'll be completely unreasonable, just because he can.
What? £2mill? Call Hull's bluff. Threaten to pull out by end of play tomorrow. Hull having effectively forced Nigel to stay and with all the bad blood knowing he wanted out.
There is a thing called manners, i don't recall us being stubborn and difficult when the shoe was on the other foot... I suppose everyone is different.
Really doubt £2M for a Championship manager with around a year left on his contract - maybe for the entire backroom staff but I think that Pearson might only bring Shakespeare. According to http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...Goran-Eriksson-replacement-article828159.html compensation is £350K - but then it is the Daily Mirror who said that Lee Clark was definitely our manager. According to this report from Sky Sports http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,16428_7299799,00.html compensation is around 1M. Then again they say that we spent £15M on players when we spend £10M and Pearson will receive the highest salary in the Championship at £850k when Allerdyce is on £1.25M so is very likely complete bull.
Hardly the same circumstances, we refused to let him speak to you, but when we came in for him, Milan just booked him a cab.
And go back to the drawing board? With other managers knowing that your third or fourth choice hasn't joined making them way down the list if they were to be approached?
As i have said, what does it achieve to be difficult? only stops your club from "moving on" your bloke don't need the money..so as I have said, he is playing to the gallery..which is ok, Its a good job we didn't mess hull about over transfer fees for our players, you got good deals..
I queued for 20 minutes in Tesco just buying a case of Stella. Its amazing how sometimes a small financial transaction can drag on and on
That's true - more or less. Then again it was Manderic that got rid of Pearson for the more marketable Sousa when he wanted to sell the club - then he got rid of Sousa for the even more marketable Sven. Now our owners are going for the last manager that actually seemed like he knew what he was doing - an actual football decision rather then for marketing. I'm feeling happier now with the appointment of Pearson - assuming that the compensation mess gets sorted out otherwise I agree with east-stand-tiger to just chuck that money at O'Neil.
Apparently so. The figure mentioned yesterday for Pearson was £325k. Shakey's worth about £150k if Pearson's worth that therefore Walsh is worth about £1.5m. Sounds about right.
I am in fact...doing very nicely thank you... There is a fine line between doing a good deal and looking cheap and unprofessional...hope hull don't moan when your next managers club messes you around...
