Pretty much, I like it personally. I'd rather a chelsea fan and a Pool fan get into a bias argument about the footy for my entertainment than a bland old man inform me the goal I just saw with my very eyes was "skillful" or that the team bottom of the league, lost 30 out of 30 games is "in a bit of trouble"
I agree to a point I'd like to see these ex pros point out things that the average football fan can't see, to show the more complex side of the game that we may not understand. That's rare unfortunately and you usually get the obvious that we already know.
I do like Monday Night Football I have got to admit, I think Neville and Carra do a good job overall. Think Neville comes with good insights into how a club is run, Carra isn't afraid to speak his mind.
I think this could end up shooting all the players involved in the foot, especially if an edition of MotD without presenters and pundits becomes popular. Because it will mean no longer having to pay presenters and pundits, millions of tax payers money to front a show. It will mean no longer having to listen to presenters and the owners of channels, bombarding us with lectures about things such as Qatar and eqaul rights and various other flavours of the moment. It could actually turn out to be a good thing. We could just watch the football, now wouldn't that be something lol
Yeah they definitely explain and discuss some things that we don't always understand. I'd like to see managers come on there and explain their tactics more often.
There's a Youtube channel "The Coaches' Voice" they have videos presented by managers going into their most iconic and impressive victory and the tactics involved. Jose Mourinho has one for the incredible 3-1 win against Barca in the Champions League. I'll grab a link. More stuff like this would be amazing.
Irony ... national broadcasting body suspends football pundit for lack of 'political impartiality' whilst being headed up by individual who failed to declare involvement in facilitating £800k preferential term loan to ex-PM and leader of Conservative party, Boris 'piss up party blind' Johnston ... only in Tory led Britain ... yuck...
Connor McNamara who is one of the commentators on MOTD says he won’t be commentating tomorrow either and others are likely to follow suit Goowon
Whole thing is ridiculous. Dont get me wrong, I think what Lineker said was total ****ing hyperbolic nonsense, but I dont really care. His political opinions dont affect his ability to present match of the day. Whilst the BBC has to pretend to be impartial (), Lineker made the comment on his own Twitter account and he is a human so of course he has an opinion on things ffs. I dont need all my TV presenters and actors to have the same political beliefs as me, I'm not that thin skinned and entitled, and neither are most people.
Millwall will be standing in solidarity with LINEKER, SHEARER, and WRIGHT!!! As they too will NOT be appearing on MOTD!!
This is the thing, if you like Lineker or not, we are heading into dangerous territory with the Tories doing their best and using their vast influence to silence any critics.
Polls are suggesting Labour could have one of the largest seat change in British history at the the next election. I saw one poll suggest the Conservatives could have as low as 49 seats That will never happen but would be interesting as ****
the shocking part is we got no opposition to these tory scum the house of parliament is bought and paid for by the system and will only move in the direction intended by big business fkimg us over if needs be
SNP are about to collapse when Sturgeon steps down, so Labour are going to get an easy majority, Tony Blair level I think. But won't be as low as under 100 seats.
yeah we only get tory even if the *****ls think they are voting for an alternative that isn’t the case it’s a fix and i wish people stopped playing the game for the system
