I don't have a problem with legal immigration. And if we, as a country, don't take our fair share of asylum seekers, then we should. What I do have a problem with is the thousands of innocent people, often uneducated and now penniless being forced onto rickety old boats and unnecessarily risking their lives in the promise/hope of a slightly better life than the one they would have in France or any of the other countries theyve bypassed. Whilst all of this lines the pockets of people smugglers and criminals. I do have a problem with the thought of innocent babies/children being forced onto these boats and not having any say or any idea of the danger they are being put under. I do have a problem with the thousands of not so innocent people who dissappear from the radar. I worry about the numbers of folk who are potentially a security risk or a drain on society. So I am of the position where I would like to see the government's plan put into action and see what happens. If it reduces the number of boats crossing and acts as a deterent then im all for it. After all, a tent in Calais must be a picnic compared to the danger they faced in their own countries, right? If theyd know the danger and the risk of a one way ticket to Rwanda then theyd much rather stay in France than risk a midnight Channel crossing in a bath with no plug in it only to be pushed on the next plane to Africa? Now the likes of Lineker don't seem to acknowledge my concerns. They don't seem to accept that what the illegal immigrants are doing is actually illegal. They seem to think that everybody risking their lives coming over deserve to be treated like a young family who have escaped persecution or the horrors of war. When in fact a fair number of them coming over are escaping nothing and are merely after more money and comfort. Again, I have no problem with that, as long as its done legally. If Lineker thinks that having this view makes me Reinhard Heydrich? He's mistaken.

The BBC haven't said anything of the sort.

They're gutless and haven't sacked him or the other pundits.

They're still paying him so it's hardly **** off.

Haven't watched match of the day for about 15 years. Think it might be worth watching tomorrow. The BBC might realise they are onto a good thing and Lineker and co might realise that they are not required anymore. Here's hoping.

As I've just said I'm just speculating on how it could be.

I clearly said it's what I've always wanted, not the current situation.

There is a well known saying. We've all heard of it. You can't argue with a lefty.

And I'm just speculating that you said one thing in one post and then instantly changed your position in order to have a pointless dig.

How Lineker is the highest paid at the bbc? What does he do to warrant that? He must be pissing himself at the absurdity of it all. A proper head scratcher.

    Then you're wrong.

I clearly said it's what I've always wanted.

"... just what I've always wanted and £2m a year, of licence payer's money saved."

It's crazy, as is the Winkleman creature who's also barely talented.

    Same kind of salary iirc.

This was my first post on here, I'm well aware of the current zituation

Not a fan of Lineker but where was the furore when he tweeted “Bin Corbyn” in the run up to the 2017 GE? I might be wrong but I think he was working for the BBC then :emoticon-0105-wink:

Despite the current pontificating I don’t recall any criticism from those currently upset by his latest lack of impartiality.
