People from London will be flocking to Birmingham once they can be there fifteen minutes quicker.

They will just use their cars. They will feel at home with the congestion charge. Another beyond hopeless scheme.

Has their ever been a less joined up transport system? Dont drive because you pollute the earth. Do drive but make sure it electric. Promise we arent close to electric blackouts on cold days. Get on a train instead that might work and will cost 4 times more. Buses, erm lets not do that. Trams, well lets not admit the old systems were better eh.

In the market for a new car at the minute. I have zero interest or faith in the public transport systems ability to meet my needs and I am not paying for maybes. Salesman told me the arse has fallen out of electric vehicles, noone wants them. Govt still applying pressure on manufacturers to stop making diesel or petrol. Dopiest plan ever. I am buying a diesel now, and will buy another before the deadline.

People sometimes look at Italy as some kind of third world country ....

... I spent a few months travelling around and the public transport was punctual, easy to access and very cheap.

It just seems to be getting worse here.

It was all HS rail is great for jobs , investment in the local areas , growth etc - all the selling points when they wanted it agreed to suit London and south of Birmingham. Seems that those reasons aren't now important even though it's the north - especially us up here , who actually have the greatest of those needs.

It's amazing how he's often the main topic on here for some people ...

... even madder that people he has on ignore quote him and post responses when they know he can't even see them <laugh>

As Bobby Thompson once said "Let them "knock", the paint lasts longer than the skin". They can't handle the truth! <laugh>

With people like that you have to keep battering them over the head with how wrong their misguided crazily partisan takes are, whether they can see it or not.

I don't give a toss if I get an answer. That he's not willing to even see a different opinion tells the story.

More signs of economic recovery for the UK this morning. Jan GDP better than predicted. The doom merchants in some economic quarters eating a bit of humble pie at the minute, but we arent out of the woods by any means. Just the light at the end of the tunnel keeps getting bigger.

That said worrying sell offs in banking stocks this morning. All off the back of trouble in the US banking sector. Already talk of US govt propping up a key lender. Lets hope we arent seeing the first signs of something else to cause pain.

That statement proves you never consider you may be wrong, quite arrogant and condescending tbh.

I doubt there's anyone more partizan on the forum than yourself tbh

... not being rude but you'll automatically and fanatically defend almost anything Tory.

I consider I might be wrong all the time. That's why I ask people questions. I'm interested in their reasoning. Often there is none other than 'tories evil' which is not a basis for legitimate criticism.

If you're wilfully misinterpreting that as being partisan then that's your loss. I've never seen you criticize a single thing about Labour, while you can see my criticism of the Tories throughout the thread.

There's a difference between questioning idiotic misinformed reeing and fanatically defending a side. Hate the Tories all you like, just have a reason for it other than it's what your dad and grandad did.

Ideas and opinions should be tested. Otherwise you end up where we are today - a who can shout the loudest competition.

Or who replies last wins (your philosophy <laugh> ).

I hope Labour win and if they do I cannot wait to create a Dr Strangelove (how I learned to stop worrying and love Keir) thread. I will highlight and hold to account any Labour lying, embezzlement, corruption, jobs for the boys shenanigans with as much zeal as I do now about the tories.

I don't believe you hate them all to the same degree <laugh>... mind you, being a farmer you've had it tough, do you feel you've been hung out to dry recently or was it just as bad, for different reasons, under Labour? Apologies for hoying salt on old wounds.

I suspect it will be a lot quieter than this one. And not because there'll be any less of it. It'll be Chinese money rather than Russian though.

Honestly, I don't give a monkey's about having the last word. I do enjoy winding those who are obsessed with it though :)

So today we are offering France more money for more boat stopping beach patrols. Because that’s worked really well all previous times.

Get some contractual obligations into the agreement.

Or recoup the money from the Brexit 'divorce deal' and see how fast they sort it.

Glad to hear you're retired marra, I'll just keep you badged as a WUM then <laugh>

I've just watched Clarkson Farm and it's horrific what farmers have to put up with. Are you in touch with any fellow farmers? How they are coping etc.
