I have had one for about 9-10 years , well before they became popular. All my family went and bought one after seeing mine and how quick they were. As a result I can guesstimate cooking time quite well. We have one of them dual zone one from ninja now which is fantastic to be honest. Cost a couple hundred quid, but I bought it when my oven broke and didn't think about buying a new one for about 6 months and even now we put the oven on once a week maybe!
We do the same in our house. Usually a hilarious night and we try to do food from the host country. Sore heads next morning always.
We just have food brought in, either Indian, Chinese, pause the TV eat then carry on. Have finished as late as 4am. Sunday is lost l'm afraid.
Getting better with timings and temperatures, if we replaced this one l would go for top of the range. I have done a Sunday roast but had to swap thing around at times which made me realise l should have gone larger.
I read if you already have a oven and then buy a decent air fryer it takes 18 months to cover the cost of the fryer before you save on electricity, so I’ll wait until my daughter gets the latest one and then nab hers.
to be honest it's speed for me. The kids tea can be ready in the time the oven would take to heat up.
The one we bought was on offer and works out the money saved would cover the cost within 12 months, so a no brainer. That's me tea sorted for tonight. thank you.
god help you this year then.... ukrainian contest held in liverpool, so its a choice of Borscht or Scouse stew,
Just wanted to post a big thank you to Samwise. Rather than hoik a load of probably worthless old fanzines in the bin he took the time to post them on here. I called into Houghton, on the way to the Stoke match, to pick them up. I've started going through them and they've brought back some wonderful memories and even spotted a few mates in the photos ... ... when I've been through them I'll pass them on to anyone who wants a bit nostalgia. Thanks again Samwise, and your lass, for making me so welcome. It's people like you who've made the last fifty years, following the Lads, such a pleasure. Al the best mate.
The air fryer I have is just the 3.8ltr Ninja which is the smallest they do, but that's all I need tbh. I paid £30 for it about 8 months ago, so I have no doubt it's already paid for itself. I liked it and use it that much that I "bought" a second one for the motorhome. I reckon I've bought somewhere in the region of 20 - 25 of them for friends at work, and over the course of about 3 weeks, I bought that many, I got the one for the motorhome for free. I think the 3.8ltr are £40 now though, and the 5.2ltr have gone from £40 to £50. If anyone fancies one, and fancies a drive out to Medomsley....I can let you know where I got them from.
Brilliant post Smug. I did see his post offering them, and you saying you would have them. Would have been such a shame to just bin them as you say. I love owt like this... Well done @samwise_new.
Good price that mate, however you are getting your hand on them! Someone could even give ya 40 or 50 quid to post it to them and still be saving! Ninja and Shark products (same company) are very good quality like. My ninja dual Air fryer cost me 200 but they are about 250 now! Fancy one of their all in one products but it would probably sit in the cupboard most the time as I have gotten by so far without the need to pressure Cook anything so doesn't justify the price tag.
The lad I got mine off, that's all he sells....Ninja and Shark stuff. Does a roaring trade in them, and last year couldn't keep up with demand for air fryers. Does the full range of Ninja's, its just a bit hit & miss as to what he has in on any given day. Go one day....loads, go the next....none.
