We have an accountant to manage the figures! If AP goes, we need a football man

MARK MAGUIRE is one. How ironic that it was Adam P. that brought him to the club.

True enough, But Hull FC were in a right old mess and Hull City were ticking along nicely. Now that AP has got Hull Fc sorted and everything is now in place for the 2012 egg chasing season, AP can now get back to sorting a less of a mess at Hull City. Nigel has gone for money pure and simple and AP will make sure no more damage is done to Hull City. He maybe using the threat of this rumour to strengthen his place within the KC and with the Allams. Its tough at the top at times you know.

imo, NP departuire will have rocked - shocked and hurt the Allams big time. They may well now allow more money to be spent to show NP a thing or two. Just a thought.

But surely bringing in an up and coming manager means doing it on the cheap.

    I hope not that cheap.

why should it ? if its OGS then who on here would complain ? (wums apart) he would also be a draw for any future signings and for sure could help messrs. fryatt and mclean hit the net more often. that part of there coaching was lacking under NP, not that NP knew much about goal scoring.

we all know how angry Papa Allam can get. Just ask Hull City CC. lol. time will tell.

I don't buy the idea that a young manager is any worse than an experienced one, and it certainly isn't doing it on the cheap because we'd have to pay compensation on most young ones.

These old managers all seem to be obsessed with 'effective' football and are as stubborn as a mule about it. Look at Allardyce at West Ham, they have the best squad in the league and could really entertain people this year but all he wants to do is force the issue with his long ball and physical tactics. Megson is another one, obsessed with hoofball. Young managers generally tend to play a more entertaining brand of football (there's one for your 'Projects' thread Arnold_Lane) and are seem more open to different ideas. This side has to play the way NP had it playing, it wouldn't work any other way.

I certainly hope you are right, I agree on your point he went mainly for the money, but if part of the reason was over this business with mobile phones and his PA, this does show a little about his character, that he does make knee jeck decision on principle, such as when he left Lesta, he seems to take umbrage very easily.

I have no idea what happened but judging by his uncharacteristic outburst on the radio, i think the joe corrigan affair was the straw that broke the camels back

I think you maybe right, a lot of professional footballers are like that, they have never lived in the real world of the "man in the street".

I think you a probably right, you can make these Knee jerk reactions when you are not financially embarrassed by losing your job, like most of us normal folk.

It comes from being surrounded by "Yes Sir, No Sir!" types, who all fear that you'll stamp your little foot if you dont get 'respect' and get your own way.
