Walked on the wrong side of the high road on the way up. Caught up with the Milan fans. Interesting experience. Get the gueezer with the megaphone out the way and they might have got here on time.
I do hope the heating is 'broken' in the Milan dressing room tonight. Also the 'Colin' trick, if they beat us only cold water in the showers afterwards.
Personally I prefer a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 to a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 but Spurs don’t have good enough centre backs to play a flat back 4 imo.
I mean we have one good enough to play in a back four Davies would be a LB in a back four, while Dier only really works as a CB playing 3ATB
We don't really have good enough CBs to play any formation though, so why not stack the odds in our favour preemptively by arranging things in such a way that we get the most of what we do have? Lenglet's strongest position is LCB, Davies is LB, Royal is RB and Perisic is LAM. We are asking almost half the outfield players to play in a more demanding position in order to accommodate a formation that hasn't clicked all season. It would be one thing to do this with a midfield at full strength, but our best CM is out for the season and our most experienced backup is injured. So the sum total of our tactical plan is to play four players out of position and voluntarily surrender the midfield in order to accommodate a formation that hasn't clicked all season. In a game that is worth upwards of £12m to the club. Is anyone else banging their head against the wall, or is it just me?
Conte probably thinks having 3 at the back instead of 2 helps because of their lack of quality. I’d rather see the extra man in midfield than defence but Conte knows more than the likes of us.
