Inspired by your post, I had a wee look at the table re. goals for / againt. I was actually surprised. Goals scored Leicester - 36 Villa - 31 Leeds - 29 Bournmouth - 24 Chelsea - 24 !! West Ham - 23 Palace - 21 Forest - 20 Southampton - 20 Wolves - 19 Everton - 19 So we're not singularly struggling to score. How can we say that when 8 teams have scored significantly less than us. Goals against Bournemouth - 51 Forest - 44 Leicester - 43 Southampton - 41 Leeds - 40 Everton - 38 Villa - 38 Wolves - 35 West Ham - 33 Palace - 32 Chelsea - 25 Well, we're not the worst. There seems to be a lot of competition for the shiitiest defence in the league.
I'd go get yourself a large dram and a considerable snack ready for when Milky gives you the XG verdict on your figures
I've given up on xg for all you dinosaurs I've learnt to appreciate that having these annoying objective statistics that give a balanced representation of chances created, takes the fun out of people just wanting to get stuff off their chests. If guys want to blame the manager one day, then the players the next, then the board the day after... what kind of killjoy wants to spoil his fellow leeds fans' spleen venting? People come on here to get their anger out without kicking the dog... i could be recklessly endangering much loved family pets with my 'xg... this', 'we actually played ok... that' comments. If people don't want to believe that there is a huge element of chance in football, and that the difference between bottom 3 and midtable is often just a few howlers and a few worldies, or an out of form striker... well let them believe that it's all controllable with good coaching. It's all just opinion after all. xg is dead to me, finito, history Now.... there's this fascinating stat called OBV... on ball value.... you'll love it
We have a respectable goal difference WJ, not taken any hammerings, just a point on those figs - defence has tightened up a little of late... corresponding with goals drying up. We were involved in more basketball games pre world cup, and i guess the Rodrigo factor is also at play.
OBV? Oh man, I have been jittering with excitement waiting for you to bring OBV to the occasion. I mean, what is footie without OBV?
Now you know I love stats, but even I'm not sure how how a technical momentum indicator to make price predictions on the stock market based upon volume changes, is going to convince people on here that even though we lost a game, we had a great OBV value
