So went to Oxford City v Farnborough yesterday. Farnborough were the better side throughout, though Oxford City scored with their first proper attack (their second shot on target, the first being moments earlier which went out for a corner). Then for the next 10 or 15 minutes it was all Oxford. Farnborough weathered the storm and scored twice. It finished 2-1. For most of the game, Farnborough were undoubtedly the better side, in terms of field position, chances, etc.

Though I swear like nearly half the just under 500 crowd were Farnborough fans.

Eurgh some football fans are pathetic, infantile neanderthals. It's one of the many things I hate about the sport. I don't know what it is about football but plenty of other sports fans from opposing sides can sit next to each other with no problem. Some of the comments in that article are alright though. Like this one from an American tennis player

"Knuckle Draggers. Imagine not being able to sit next to another fan for 90 mins coz he supports another team. Strange world we live in"

Luckily when I went to Birmingham v Hampshire at edgbaston despite jumping up and cheering every wicket Hampshire took (and they absolutely smashed Birmingham), I was not attacked by the thousands of brummies surrounding me.

I can never understand why football is the exception in this. In just about every other sport played globally, the threat of violence from rival fans is something the vast majority of people would fall about laughing at the very idea of.

Of course Watford have sacked their manager.

I wonder if Wilder will make it to the start of next season?

When Watford have apparently had 18 managers in about 10 years, you start to think that maybe the managers aren't the problem...

Wouldn't it be brilliant if Benfica could win the Champions League? Those of us of a certain vintage recall the days when they were the "KIngs of European Football." Now they are supplying the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and so on with their riches!!!

Could Chelsea, a team that have done sweet FA all season, actually win the CL? They have history of this during Di Matteo's short tenure. While they have nothing else of note to win, the stress levels will build up on City to try and win the treble and won't!!

Exceptional player. Again, while there's no question our board made significant errors this season, I totally get why they thought that it was willing to take the risk on waiting for Gakpo/Ramos when we had agreed terms, rather than move on to Onuachu/Brereton Diaz/whatever in the summer.

Crikey, imagine if we'd actually got Gakpo and Ramos.

Actually. Don't. It would mean imagining them playing under Nathan Jones.
