A 55 year old Blackpool fan has died, after receiving a head injury when he was attacked following the Blackpool v Burnley game.
That is awful, you go to the game to enjoy and then because of some mindless thug, it ends up being your last game. RIP

Blackpool FC is deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the news that supporter, Tony Johnson, tragically lost his life earlier this morning. The Club will be offering an open book of condolence from 4pm in the Moretti Lounge, giving supporters the opportunity to pay their respects to Tony. Supporters are also invited to lay flowers at the Mortensen Statue behind the North Stand at 4pm today along with the Club's staff and players, giving everyone associated with the football club the chance to come together and remember a lifelong Seasider. All of the thoughts of everyone at the football club go out to Tony's family and friends. Rest in peace, Tony.

Tony Johnson, 55, was found with a serious head injury near The Manchester bar on the Promenade in Blackpool at 19:00 GMT on Saturday. Blackpool Football Club said they were "deeply shocked and saddened" by the grandfather's death. Mr Johnson's partner said his family were "heartbroken" and "devastated". Supporters had clashed after the match between Blackpool and Burnley. In a tribute, his partner said: "I am devastated to have lost my best friend, life partner and soul mate in a cruel act.
Looks like a load of Blackpool fans went looking for Burnley in the Manchester pub. He was leading the fight and had punched and kicked a Burnley fan, who punched back and dropped him. sounds like self-defence. Still a terrible tragedy, we go to footy and expect to go home. two live fecked up over booze/coke maybe.
