I don't think Treble has watched many of our recent games where gakpo has started to come into his form as you've said.

Once nunez plays then gakpo works for us.

the better the two feel the better for us imo. the better they feel the more salah gets interested.

    your disgrace of a captain.

your players who took to kicking out cos they didn't like being be beat

your showboating rw who was one more who didn't bother his arse when you went 0-2 down

or is it the reaming you take offense at?

We've won a trophy for starters in Ten Hag's first season. We have enough quality in the positions you mentioned to build a squad that can improve from where we are (3rd atm) next season so why not? What we need is a CF and another creative midfielder. Funnily enough Chief and I mentioned on our board, we have Laird who can come in at RB and deserves his chance given how he's done out on loan. We also have other players coming through our youth team, like Mainoo, Pellistri, Iqbal who are proving themselves in midfield. And there's Dallo also doing well at Sunderland.

Ironically, what today has shown, is that we don't have the depth to compete in several competitions because every game at this stage is make or break in cup competitions and we've run our players ragged. So I agree we need depth, but not to the level you've mentioned.

After that tonic, just the simple matter of overturning the three goal déficit in Madrid. Liverpool will win that Match, whether it is by enough goals, we shall see!!

    :emoticon-0140-rofl:

You can hear carragher cackling with laughter after goal 6 and 7 on the sky highlights.

I've never heard that in a commentary before tbh. That has to be a first.

There's camera footage from half time of goal 1 going in with neville and carragher. There must be some hilarious footage of the for that last 30mins:emoticon-0172-mooni

Agree about Martial. He's nowhere near a No. 9, another makeshift who has become a sicknote.

There is something wrong with relying on Rashford to score all your goals though.

Decent No.9's are rare but they are more likely to be found than a Kane. Btw when I'm talking about a No. 9 it's not just a fox in the box.

There's about a million wingers or attacking midfielders or 10s or whatever else they fancy themselves as.

Appropriate lead the line, hold the ball up when needed, run behind when needed type of player with the pace and strength is very hard to find. One without a betting issue is even harder to find it seems. Toney is the closest in the prem outside of kane. Haaland is too lazy at city to chase round.

You want a benzema or a Kane. A guy that can link play from up top, protect the ball but also score 20 league goals and get 10 assists a season.

In other worlds you want an absolute world class striker who can do everything, like every other club on the planet.

There 4 or 5 so far ahead of the rest that nobody knows who the rest even are at this point. Benzema, lewandowski, kane are all old now. Haaland is too young to realise you have to work for success.

The new kid at Brighton looks a real one. Toney when not betting looks a proper handful. There's a few round Europe but its all of a level

    You’ve won the league cup

    Villa home
    Burnley home
    Charlton home
    forest 2 legged semi
    Newcastle final

anyone can win a cup, we won 2 last year. Especially when you get a home draw every round against Lower prem and championship sides.

that doesn’t mean you can compete with the best teams in a league over 38 games. If you think Anthony Dalot Fred Mctom maguire are good enough to challenge for a title then you’re in trouble. They’re all solid mid table players but you need quality replacements for them, and then casemiro Eriksen varane are getting to that stage where vvd Fabinho thiago are getting, wrong side of 30 and will be on the down rather than improving.

Ferguson? Looks a threat in the box, yet to see him with link up yet. Way too young to judge how he turns out yet.

    Bit unfair that tbh.

They won a cup. They didn't for 6 years, that's improvement.

Yes but my point which seems to continually go over your head is that other than Kane, if that is unlikely then the other option is a No. 9 who will still bang in the goals in the current set up (because we create so many chances in the final third but just don't have anyone up front to finish them). Either way, Gakpo aint it, and Weghorst who is a temp was never going to be either.

Totally agree on the age thing but the bonus with Kane is he hasn’t really ever relied on his speed

as I say I think he could do a job for both of us

however I not sure we could afford him for only two years

I actually think Utd are one of the few clubs that could, now he has the record you have to think his mind will Switch to trophies now and Tbf the top Prem scorer record. Think only utd and City will give him that crack and City have Haaland.

I do think he is pretty much exactly what you need

You said major trophies. There are only 4 any club can win, maybe the LC is beneath you but I'll take any.

So what are the other 3 you're talking about when you compare us to City? The CL which City flop in every season? The PL that Arsenal are 8 points clear of at the top? Or the FA Cup which is just as much a possibility for us this season as City? What is your point here lol

You're the one who listed those positions mate, like we need a whole rebuild which I laughed at bcos it was an exaggeration. Now you're going on about McTom, Dalot and Maguire like we're relying solely on them. 24 hours ago we were favourites to win today, and now we lose we need a complete rebuild despite the progress we've made and the fact we're having a good run in three competitions (winning one of them).

Exactly, you didn't win one for 8 years before Klopp came along.

    At least you understand.
