Only if a bidding war develops - supply and demand. They will settle for £5m if not.

Torres' decline has, in a Spurs perspective has been brilliant to watch but talking from a neutral view it's actually a shame to see a top player look so average now. I don't think anyone is to blame but himself, he seems lost, it looks as though he's an academy player that's been thrown in at the deepend and can't hack it, watching his decline was similar to how we saw Keane go when he came back to us after his poor spell at 'Pool.

Had it not been for Torres' crazy price tag (not that he's to blame for that), he would have been dropped ages ago but I think that's been established for a while now. The thing is it's put Chelsea in a sh*t position, because even if they chose to put him on the transfer list, no one at present will offer half the money they paid and no team will want to lose that much money. By benching him, it'll be seen as a huge waste of money too and so at the moment they're in a lose-lose scenario and Torres is the only one who can change that.

Spurs perspective back in motion, I hope his form continues, at least 'til after the 22nd December! :emoticon-0110-tongu

According to the Standard he's on around £60k p/w at Napoli, so there's room to negotiate there.

As for Cahill, figures of £8m are being bandied about in the various papers, but it's obvious Bolton are hoping for an auction.

All strikers look poor when low on confidence as shown by Doris's last two glaring misses at Old Trafford and Blackburn. As stated above Doris is not the type of player to carry a team and his poor form reflects the poor start Chelsea have made to this campaign. Apart from a few excellent cameos from Cech, Lampard, Ramires & Cole we would be further up the creek than we find ourselves at present.
Chelsea being Chelsea always turn it around but like last year have a knack of shooting themselves in the foot. Should Chelsea emerge from this self made doldrum before the 22nd of December, I would expect the worse. <whistle>

To be honest HBC I don't think £8m would still be appropriate for a player with so little left on his contract. I think it'll depend more nearer the time as to whether we'll need to splash the cash or not though.

Taking the English Premium into account, technically we're paying £5m - with the rest as a result of who a couple of people that had sex sometime in March 1985 were from...

Completely agree; Drogba makes thing happen on his own for himself and the team when we are playing badly; Torres never did that at Liverpool.

That's why he'll never be as militant and righteous as Dids

Only when he feels like it, which is the main reason he is a complete ****er as well.

  9. How much playing time would either of these players get at City? Very little, I suspect. If either goes to City it will be purely for the money and not at all for the football, because there will be very little of it to be had.

I suspect that either would be tempted by Chelsea, simply because they're able to afford to pay higher wages. I don't know enough about Cavani, but Cahill (as good as I think he is) will not be worth the wages that Chelsea will have to fork out in order to stop him coming to us. But, as the Russian has shown, he is not adverse to paying silly money to clinch a deal.

  14. He's also exceedingly ignorant. What connection remains between the club (a publicly listed company) and North London's Jewish community? How many of our players are Jewish? How many of our coaching and back-room staff are Jewish?

    Pure ignorance.

The good news is that one day he'll let slip something like that to the wrong person and end up taking a right pasting. Excellent

Read your history, the term Yid was used against us as a way of insulting us, we decided to embrace the name and celebrate it. In what way are we embarrassing the Jewish contingent by saying we're proud to be associated with it?

If anything we've decreased the amount of racism towards the Jewish community, had we not of embraced it, opposition fans would have continued to use it in a deragotary way.

  19. S of S? don't try to reason with HammersmithBlue. He's a WUM of the highest order, and is interested only in winding you up. He has absolutely no interest in engaging in any sensible debate with you.
