Just turned it off mate for the same reasons. Should have made it about 'Ull's heydays when the real three day millionaires existed.
Will do mate, it's a Jet2 holiday to Taormina on the East Coast so close to the village that stood in for Corleone in Godfather I and also the White Lotus location, can do Etna as well but too far for Palermo, advice is to do East and West Sicily separately as its so big, not going until September.
Some great scenes set in Sicily in the Rai TV series "Inspector Montalbano" that aired on BBC. Would love to visit Ragusa and Modica. It was a great series with excellent characters and story lines. If you didn't watch it, check it out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inspector_Montalbano_(TV_series) please log in to view this image
Friend of mine went round Sicily by car. Started off in Catania not far from where Original minority is going. He had never watched Montalbano but I said to him to have a look where they film it. They stitch scenes from various places together to make up the fictional Vigata but he saw Montalbano’s beachside place which you can stop in now. Great view from the balcony. Nearby Syracuse, a major and important place for millennia and home of Archimedes is a place for history buffs. Mind you everywhere you go in Sicily has something to offer. please log in to view this image
Did he get a taste for granita? My mate did, especially lemon granita. One of those things you cannot replicate here.
I enjoyed it. Some didn’t as it has some joke characters in it. Worth watching for a lot of the scenery.
We fly into Catania and can get a train back there so will go, sounds like a mini Naples ie a bit rougher, anyone been?
My mate spent a few days there and found it OK. Syracuse is the place if you like historic sites and is attractive so my mate said,
