Hindsight is 20-20 and a beautiful thing. We done great back end of 2022 playing without a striker, (Ross and Ellis out injured for weeks), they came back later in the year but at that point, every fan was thinking at that point, two strikers aren't enough and backup was required, instead Simms left and Stewart got injured.
We have scored every game we've lost, keep a clean sheet and we're fine. That's my straw, and I'm clutching it!
It's because they're looking for specific players and won't just sign anyone. It also takes time to identify and research them. It's a high bar the club has set itself with a lot of factors that need to be met.
Then that's too rigid if you're left with no one and end up writing off half a season. Need to be pragmatic.
Last season it was 38, season before it was 44 and season before that it was 49 50 was always the traditional mark for safety I think we are safe
That's your opinion. Other people prefer we signed players we actually want at the club. At the end of the day we're hitting our target of staying up, and just because some people got carried away with the prospect of another promotion and feel bitter about it not happening, doesn't mean that we aren't on track or are doing the wrong thing.
Football is about having a balanced squad and winning games. We don't have a balanced squad are not winning games currently. That's not opinion. It's fact.
TM tried to get Nemeth in on the 5th of Jan mate but it was blocked by upstairs, Harvey said if we pay the money he will come.
It's your opinion that we should forget the model to just sign anybody. The club is obviously happy with where we are in the league. I'm sure if we'd been staring relegation in the face in January we'd have stretched the budget to get someone in.
The model is decent but at times it needs some flex. Football can through up some surprises. Ruthlessly sticking to it leaves you short and puts any immediate progression down the pan. Good will and the feel good are quick to disappear in football and it won't last long here if we continue to get beat week in week out. I also feel it's a poor decision what you say is reality. Only stretch the budget to stay up but not to go up ?
TM's demeanour has changed recently He will feel aggrieved that he hasnt got a No 9 The model is a good one, although Prehab makes a very good point that it needs some flex sometimes Im happy with where we are in the league I am also baffled with some of TM's decisions of late, where he is playing certain players way out of position
He's about the only other player that we have with a physical presence, apart from Ballard and Batth of course. Ekwah scored some great goals for West Ham U23s. I would like to see more of this lad, I hope he's given an opportunity for more game time, as well as Bennette and Lihadji, at least those two have pace in abundance.
If TM is actually playing players out of position and it ends with us getting beat all the time he deserves the sack and it won’t bother me if he gets it.
I'm not even thinking about him weighing in with goals. Just his size and presence would be the closest we have to Stewart. Hold it up, bring Clarke, Roberts & Amad in to play in dangerous positions further up the pitch. If we get a lead and need to keep the ball in the final third, he's an option.
