Something not quite right here Come on own up who's hacked Monty's account Think this is the first post from Monty that I have "liked'
I still can not believe that speakman thought Gelhardt would be fine for us as a 9. His speech after the window closed saying "he was totally aligned to how we play" Absolute tosh.
He also thought Dajaku could cover as a 9 which also was tosh. It’s the arrogance of thinking Safc can be the only team in the country that doesn’t need a centre forward for over half a season that annoys me,
It’s an embarrassing situation that we’re left with and there shouldn’t be a single excuse. Not good enough at all.
For me, Mowbray is partly to blame for being weak in January but the bulk of the blame for the Strikers or lack of any is purely down to Speakman. The fact Mowbray took off Geldhart , who is not capable of running the line, is ,imo, his way of saying indirectly to Speakman that Geldhart was never the solution to the strikers problem. Its going to be a tough few weeks until the end of the season and the playoffs are now a distant dream.
My guess, and it is only a guess... Is that TM wants more say in transfers, both in and out. If I was a conspiracy bod, I might think, the player selection and the set-up/tactics were designed to show case our deficiencies... which they did. So TM has given a nudge to KLD... come on boss, let me do transfers!
No chance. A major reason why AN left. Wanted more say and said our squad was too young and lacking physcial presence.
It was basic defensive errors that cost us dearly in the 2nd half. The first half goal was mainly down to the officials.
The vast majority is because the opposing defence have their cigars out and can press higher and get up the pitch quicker. Meaning if we turn the ball over it ends in disaster.
They had a 40 year CB who thought he had retired yesterday as he had a 'kick about' barely breaking a sweat!
1st one, marking was poor; 2nd and 3rd, gave up possession too easily in dangerous areas; 4th one, poor marking. Biggest problem looked to me that we allowed them to break on us too easily and without a proper holding player, they just ran through the midfield unopposed.
Yep. When they have nowt to occupy the the entire team can move up and the breaks are lightening quick.
He has been having a dig at recruitment for a while now, normally things like this dont end well. I hope im wrong.
There is definitely a change in the narrative in his recent interviews, hopefully he turns it round but supporters of his previous clubs have said his sides always have a slump in the latter stages of the league.
