As long as we give 100%, I won't mind losing so much. Its just when your team plays **** and doesn't fight (Big Sam's team) it pisses you off, this team doesn't worry me with stuff like that

You don't understand? Just think how some of these poor blokes felt.

During the war when power houses down south needed coal to keep going, colliers from the north east were escorted by Royal Navy gunships to protect them from German warships waiting to ambush them. Small boats from all over Europe came over to help carry as much coal as possible to the areas waiting for it.

The sailors on the gun boats had to make sure the German ships didn't get among the colliers and cause havoc and used to call out to them to identify themselves from time to time.

One Norwegian boat was called Anna and one day it lost it's position a bit and a sailor on the gunboat called out for it to identify itself to make sure it wasn't a German boat waiting to pick it's victims off with ease.

Somebody on the Norwegian boat called back, "Anna" and a Geordie gunner on the gunboat called back, a knaa ye knaa but aa divint knaa, identify yourself or I'll open fire!

<ok> Cheers, good sum up there. Will trade opinions while I'm here; I certainly don't have your lads written off for 3rd place, Chelsea don't look as strong as you'd have expected this season and if Van Persie stays fit I can see Arsenal surging straight up and staying there.

Would have voted for Sunderland, but realised it wasn't about finishing 17th... Predict them to be surprise strugglers with Stoke this season, and that's not even based on rivalry bias, I just think they aren't playing to the capabilities of their mediocre players, which isn't good, whereas our "mediocre" players are working as a unit and playing above themselves at present.

Luckily for them, I think Stoke have bought even worse in the last window... Crouch? Jerome? Pfffttt... Add to this everyone has come to terms with their tactics, and I don't see where are good run will come from now...

Picked Everton, but Fulham is a decent shout to be honest... Think january will define our season, and who we lose...

Yep but Everton were in 8th, and won it.

Arsenal were in 3rd and finished 4th, so take heart from that.

Crazy really. I remember this year my home city Lincoln beating Oxford United like 3 nil... and now they're bottom end of the Conference <laugh>

What a difference 25 years makes eh.

Great statistics really, things like that. Always make for great reading. Even if in reality everyone knows Newcastle have no hope of ending up 4th, it's still nice to dream <laugh>

The league is a lot closer Everton were 4 points off Liverpool in 1st, where as at present Aston Villa in 8th and are 16 points off leaders Manchester City, so 8th ain't going to win the league this time.
