Beddy and ABK are fine as a CB partnership IMO.

Oh no worries on that front. Pretty much all I'm seeing is losses, alas.

But hopefully I'll continue to be proved wrong.

My opinion is we have to win - I don't care if it was a comical own-goal and they then missed two penalties and were camped in our penalty area for the rest of the game - if we win that is all it is about.

Stay up and maybe we can sort out the mess we are in next season. At the moment it is about winning games, not how we win them. 6 points from the last 9 will do me.

Well done lads. The negativity is paying off!

Lucky wins are the best wins. If we can start winning the ones where we don't get lucky now there's a chance we might get above the dreaded line.

I was absolutely shocked at how poor Armstrong was against Grimsby. Yes he runs and doesn’t give up but his poor decision making and sheer lack of shooting ability is worrying. How on earth did he score so many in the Championship?

After Wednesday I felt utterly deflated and approached this game with perverse resignation that we would lose and our season would be over. Strange selection but as someone else pointed out the players are much of a muchness so can only trust Selles there.

20 minutes from the end I nearly spilt my Shiraz, I was punching the air and giving a hearty rendition of OWTS.... they may be crap but the Saints are my crap.....our crap. Bit of luck today and with a bit more we can still do this.

I'd be just as happy with Mo and ABK just not Mo and Bedders. ABK has to start every game IMO.

It'd be pessimistic in the extreme to think we couldn't. One game at a time now till the end of the season. 6 points between us and 12th place, it is RIDICULOUSLY tight in the bottom half so its mentality and nerve right now. We have the advantage as we've been in this all season and have come to terms with it, Palace and Leicester and WestHam could really fall to bits.

It was refreshing to see our 10s looking dangerous and not being ponderous or playing with their heads down and unaware of what is around them and it makes a huge difference to the team.
We put in a good defensive shift too although I still think that KWP on the right and Perraud on the left would be better FB options. I'm in two minds about dropping Baz for Macca because the former needs to learn on the job and i'm sure that he will be a very good GK in time.
I'd like to see Tall Paul and Che be given a chance up top as I think that they could compliment each other well.
The best thing is that there was no lack of fight out there today but we need that commitment in EVERY match from now on.

Well I got off my arse and went to the game. I don't know what has gone wrong but I have this strange euphoric feeling I haven't had for a long time.

I'm very happy with the win. I'm very happy with the clean sheet. I'm very happy at Alcarez playing no.10.

But nothing has changed for me. I'm still expecting relegation. I'm still not liking the subs we're making. We got very lucky that Leicester failed to hit the target with any of their chances. I don't make us favourties to win any of our next five games - if we can scrape together five or six points, that would be a great return; but even just two points seems a stretch to me.

I'm still going to enjoy the win though. I'm happy. It's been a good evening for us. I just wish I could believe it would actually mean something.
