After an hour, it was probably even. They bossed the first half hour, us the second. After we went two up, it was always going to be us defending, which we did very well.
Really noticeable how good Slater is down the middle - if you run at players down the middle and can go either way it frightens the opposition - he could be very effective
I thought he had a good game and got a great ovation, I did say on here a while back he normally goes the same way all the time and to improve he needs to vary it more. Last night he did that but unfortunately some of his crosses were poor and that’s because he was on his wrong foot. The good thing is that he was going both inside and outside which hopefully he’s working on. I think he must have read my post either that or LR as told him to do so.
Amazing what happens when you stop playing a natural central midfielder as a winger and play him as a central midfielder.
Elder was excellent last night, that mazy run down the left in the 1st half was almost Robbo at his best. BTW where was Christie?
I think that highlights Darlow's biggest weakness; he spills the ball all too easily. Soap on his gloves by all accounts.
I really like Longman and he’s getting better all the time - one complaint is is he doesn’t see runners behind him ,it’s a minor point but if his defensive awareness improves his all round game does .
Excellent win. Liam showing that he is learning quickly he did what he had to do and it changed the game.
I don't agree with you, Qatartiger, Cambridgetiger, Evington or Howden Tigress on that. WBA attacked quick enough, got to our penalty area and even inside it and caused problems from the wings. But their shooting or final touch was poor once they got into those dangerous positions. A way better comparison would be Swansea who are very slow.
Nay and twice nay...I admit that he did make a hollicks at one point, but other than that, I thought he was the stand out, in a display in which seven or eight of the lads could have easily won the MoTM, thing.
