TM got everything wrong today. One in midfield no shape and no press up front
Overrun in midfield by an average team
    Big re think needed.

is that our worst ever defeat at the SOL

    Indefensible. Absolute shambles.

Even scoring 5 could see they are a **** side, which is the bigger worry.

It was a joke, the whole setup. For the 3rd goal, leaving Neil as the last man when we had an attacking free kick was ridiculous too. Sure he should have done better but still its basics that we are getting wrong.

Don't get me started on our set pieces :emoticon-0121-angry

Fully agree , my only real concern is Tony has only one system of 4/2/3/1 and no plan B.

Need to focus on making us hard to beat and go from there. For me that's O'Nien holding midfielder and take your pick of the two CMs ahead. I'd probably go Pritchard and Neil or Michut if Neil would benefit from a break.

Clarke and Amad out wide and Gelhardt up top, obviously.

Been shipping goals when the opposition turn the ball over for the last few games I’m loving the technical side of our game but we really need a platform to play off Big changes needed in midfield desperate for someone who can tackle and break up the play Three in midfield for me let’s hope we can find a better shape

Yeah, I don't think he'll deviate either, but we need to get to a 4-3-3 in my opinion with a holding midfielder. I'd probably play Amad up top at this point and Roberts out wide. We're not going to be free scoring but we'd be harder to beat and maybe a bit quicker on the break.

Agree with the first bit, but Diallo needs a rest and we might as we send Gelhardt back - Stewart on crutches would do better

Well we couldn’t have fcked that up better if we’d tried. Returning manager who fcked us over winning 5-1 (there’ll be 5under1and **** to be navigated) ex Mag scores two, biggest attendance just about anywhere and we just didn’t turn up. At least we kept our poor home form run going :-(

Well I hope we find some strikers who fit our model in the summer or we're back to league one

Mowbray dropped a hint about a lack of a striker last week. Lack of a striker doesn't cause a team to ship 5 goals, but players are getting frustrated in no end product to their play, confidence is shot to bits and we end up chasing games resulting in being caught on the break. Be interesting to hear Mowbray's thoughts, but I guarantee we won't hear Speakman's.

If ever the opening goal summed up the entire game it was today.

    One to forget.

Imho you cannot replace Cory Evans with Dan Neil and even less with Pritchard...

As well as having no 'presence' up front we cannot then go and have a weak midfield. I said earlier in this thread 09 should be there to add muscle and nous.

That we often get bullied is often said. But apart from Ballad and Batth (who are great) we have few big lads that can mix it
We are technically very good, but lack power. I think we all knew that a result like this was on the cards.

I don't really blame TM for the problems, ,(09 lacking in CM) since he has been in charge he has made it clear he wanted powerful players.

I haven't seen enough of Gelhardt yet but could easily go with Amad or Clarke up top instead then we wouldn't have to leave Roberts out.

Exactly right with the frustration element. A winger will usually try to beat the full back and cross for the striker. Obviously we have no striker so when our wingers beat the fullback they have no choice but to cut in and take on the centre backs, which usually ends up in us losing possession and the inevitable frustration that follows for everyone.

TM got the team all wrong and I felt it as soon as he put it up. Pritchard alongside Neil always going to get over run in midelfield.

But that doesn't explain why the last few weeks we have been making mistake after mistake to concede goals. Made them look good today.

Confidence looks shot to **** at the minute. Think he needs to make some big changes. O'Nien in midfield for me the lad never hides. As much as I don't agree with Bob on Dan Neil not being good enough he does give it away in silly positions at times and looks like he needs a few games out.

At this point I'd sack off starting Gelhardt now. He's not our player and isn't having any influence on games.
I think Pritchard has to be the false 9. It's far from ideal but he's our only available player who can retain the ball and get his head up in the final third.
