We've been in very good form for most of the season. I think sadly, we got a bit carried away thinking we could step up further when we were already at our peak capacity.
I said this as soon as I saw the line up. He might aswell not be on in that position. And I agree without Evan O'nien needs to take his position in the team!
These players have been hung out to dry by the decision makers at the club. It's hard to have a go at Dan Neil when you consider he's in his first season at the highest level he's ever played at with absolutely no experience alongside him in central midfield. It's often said that we shouldn't bring players in because it may stifle development of young players but I guarantee you bringing in an experienced cm and st would have helped our development a lot more than the whimpering end to the season we're about the see.
I think not getting a replacement or at least back up showed that we were not gonna push the boat out in pursuing promotion through the playoffs. That's how I felt anyway. I accepted that. But I wasn't expecting our season being shot down in flames so badly.
writing this at 60 minutes, seems the game is virtually over for us. ex manager/player come back and we simply have a complete melt down...i know enough has been said about dan neil but i thought he had moved on from this 'giving it away' rubbish but being fair to him, the entire team has been moving the ball terribly, lousy passing and failure to control the ball. finally we start to show some fight instead of p1ssing about get the ball into the middle rather than messing about outside the box...if stoke had taken so much thought rather than just passing forward they would be lucky to score...and there goes the final nail with that ugly little chimp scoring. thats me done for a bit like.
It’s going to be close. We may have scored today but we have **** all up front. Remainder of this season is going to drag.
