Alese was terrible for their goal by the way. Went storming out to tackle the midfielder and they just passed it around him and he left a hole down his side which they exploited. His positioning is awful at times.
Worst referee I've seen ever. Out of his depth totally. As an ex referee I don't like saying that but it's 100% right.
Sounds like it’s been ****e, can we turn it round second half though? Recent results have been on a downward trajectory we need to arrest this slide quickly.
Always thought O'Nien sitting deep with Neil and Michut (for example) ahead of him would be a good setup in certain games.
what is it that 'forces' other teams to play 'cry-babies' when they play us? seems every contest means one of them ends up with imaginary leg or head problems, playing lots of fouls just to slow or stop the play. i might be wrong but i also thought raising an arm at an opponent was a foul (on roberts, lifting his arm to push him over, a 'nothing foul' if honest) and the foul on clarke was the guy just stepping in front with his elbow raised, no idea how it took so long to get one of them in the book yet our first 'foul' got dan neil booked. dunno, maybe i am losing the plot these days but i am struggling to watch a game without wondering what the hell the ref is doing...not asking for everything to be given to us, just be fair about it and when teams are falling over like these stoke lads clamp down on it.
Glad to see Mowbray acknowledging he got it wrong by making some changes. O'Nien at left back though unfortunately rather tan the middle, but at least he's on the pitch.
Teams up and down the country go away from home and try to frustrate the home team as part of their game plan. It breaks up play, stops the home team getting into their flow and gets the home crowd anxious. We don't know how to deal with it and play into their hands by getting frustrated. This is our fault for being naïve and something we need to address.
