We're not relegation dodgers that's for sure, and that's nice. But progress for me is also consistently evaluating performances. I've been assured over the past few weeks that Howe is not the long term man for this project. He get's next season, but we need to seriously be considering Pochettino or someone of that ilk soon. We used to be so **** that we decided to sack managers based on relegation, but I think we have to get to the stage of changing managers to meet goals.
All teams have ups and downs, and I'm 100% behind Howe right now. Last 14 games are a bit of a mini project now, and getting everything from them is what matters.
I'm surprised City are in second tbh, considering you've always been their competitors and you've flushed this season down the toilet. I'd have expected them to be miles away at the top right now.
Definitely. Considering we're used to the outcome of being battered 5-0 and being surprised it wasn't 10 because of missed chances....then there are serious positives here.
I think we're the orchestrators of our own struggles here. We are not making the changes which are glaring, it takes ages for a shift on the bench. As has been pointed out, Murphy has actually been playing well. Alright, so why aren't we changing it up? Because Almiron has certainly not been anywhere near his standard. Burn has been atrocious for a few weeks now, only the blind can't see that, but we refuse to change it up. DPP is a teacher and came up with a perfectly suitable replacement, perhaps this is why Howe gets such a low wage. Wilson playing despite all evidence is just, well, it's favouritism for a mate that. No doubt. He hates Gordon and Isak or something, Gordon was perfectly fine and getting some good minutes with the team and he drags him off at 60 minutes. It's just, you're watching it and going "what is going on here? What plan of action is this?" If we don't beat Wolves, we are in a bit of trouble here. It's our winnable home game, a lot rides on that.
Need to beat Wolves, otherwise all these positives people are banging on about mean **** all. That's football. If they beat Wolves, hope is restored, we have a W on our record and can start building points. If we don't beat Wolves, if its some pathetic score draw or something, then we go to Forest with them being favourites for a home win.
Not convinced by what he’s shown when he has played. Was awful in his last one for us. Nowhere near Burn or Targett
The hysteria will start soon because most nufc fans started to convince themselves they were a top 4 club , but when the dust settles they'll realise top 8 would be a great 1st season with the new owners.
Top 8 is basically already guaranteed because no one below that point will catch us, unless we literally lose every game for the remainder of the season. 7 is not guaranteed at all, Fulham look better right now, they have a striker sold to them by Newcastle United.
Exactly mate so we should be content and looking fwd to the next phase of this game changing takeover.
Top half is the minimum as we finished 12th previously and have spent 300m in the interim. Howe is not building a marble statue out of clay here, he's been given more money than any other NUFC manager in the past 20 years or so.
