Bristol away early 80's first game of the season when we travelled down over night after setting off from New York pub.
Thought Longman had a good game last night. If he could improve his end product and decision-making, he’s be a top player at this level. Second half he beat several players who couldn’t lay a glove on them then he put in a cross that didn’t beat the first man. Though saying that, Albrighton has a PL winner’s medal and was absolutely garbage. Must’ve had 10 crosses in the second half alone and none of them reach a WBA player.
Also, the only West Brom players that impressed me last night were Yokuşlu and to a lesser extent, Swift. Yokuşlu was the type of midfielder we needed in the summer to compliment Seri rather than Woods and Swift was their only dangerous player going forward.
Hard to tell. With VAR it might’ve been considered offside but to the Lino’s naked eye, it was a tough call.
Well look at this image of where Tetteh was when he received the ball and headed it back before running into space where he received the ball back still in an onside position. Which wouldn’t have mattered anyway as it came from the opposition player. I suggest varifocals when you go.
VAR wouldn't have been involved as it didn't result in a goal. Even if it goes for a corner it wouldn't have been amended.
I thought you were referring to Tetteh’s goal. A lot were saying last night he was offside for his goal when he wasn’t.
Yes it is, a couple of other pics from the game, i stick out on one of them, Pus rip on one of the pictures when a few lads had a kickabout on the pitch after we all sneaked into the ground bout 10am in the morning.
hffp was talking about the 2nd goal and tetteh being offside for his shot that ultimately led to the corner
We were referring to different things. I thought you were referring to Tetteh’s goal which people were claiming he was offside for when he plainly wasn’t.
Yeah, realise that now. People last night were saying Tetteh was offside for his goal when he wasn’t.
If it’s the game I’m thinking of, we lost 2-1 with Andy Flounders scoring for us and Billy Askew made his debut in the second half. He joined the squad late as he’d been to the dentist the day before. We ended the season second, behind Wimbledon. I’ve no idea what I did last Tuesday.
Good fun when you had to travel overnight and arrived early. Got to Cardiff early one morning. Gates of Cardiff Arms Park were open so half a dozen of us went in. An enormous bloke in a blazer came out. He thought we might be after causing damage, Got talking to him and he realised I liked union so took us all for a look round, went up in the top tier of the cantilever stand which was dizzingly steep. Then he let us on the pitch and threw a ball so I achieved a dream of touching down there. Great start to the day spoilt later by City getting slugged 6-0
