I think his biggest challenge/objective was reducing numbers of a hugely bloated squad. He's rid the squad of umpteen players and reduced wages where contracts allow whilst keeping us in the Championship. 10/10 from me.
I think the challenge was to possibly get into the top 8, maybe even 6th .... had there been more time to get to that point then he would likely have been on a longer contract. Provisio's in the contract allowing for " by mutual agreement" .. lik ewe got relegated or finished in say bottom 5! The draw versus Wigan was probably the 2 pts we needed to get top 6 or 7! There is a sort of revolving door in 6th place .. projected points seem to stay the same / even get less as lower placed teams manage to attain 6th! The level playing field extends to teams with 49 points / spread of 5 points. Currently if you include , game in hand WBA , its top 3rd to 12th that could make it, 9 teams vying for 4 places
Nigel Pearson makes admission over his Bristol City future amid contract talks Bristol City have recently given out new contracts to Max O’Leary and Nahki Wells, but what about their manager Nigel Pearson? https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/...dmission-over-his-bristol-city-future-4049846 Nige agrees with Jon boy, no hurry or worry about a contract, no need to go public, quite happy and other things to think about, well that has cleared that up then, have a chat in a year or so.
Tottenham after Scott. Not exactly surprising or new I suppose. Tottenham interested in Alex Scott transfer raid after £25m-rated winger shines for Bristol City against Man City https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/2157...dium=sharebar_native&utm_campaign=sharebaramp
City need to re negotiate his contract and ensure he is signed up till 2028 with a clause to say he can speak to any team prepared to offer £30m ... and that is speak to not be transferred for!
You do realise we’ve offered him a contract don’t you? Why would he agree to one of your daft contracts when he can see that he’s sought after by Prem teams.
not mine I pinched it off a player who signed in the window except for the £30m bit [ it was more ] still go 8 unanswered comments ! .... lol
The interesting contract clauses in Bristol City transfer deals - according to Football Manager 2023: photo gallery Bristol City wheeled and dealt in the January transfer window - but have you ever wondered how deals were structured? https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/...to-football-manager-23-gallery-4053908?page=1
watford have had 18 /19 managers under the Pozzo's .. with 3 easy, well bottom teams to be next games the usual sacking to give the new man a chance to pick up easy points? What would happen if he lost all 3 or just got 3 or 4 points from the 9! On paper only 5 games are looking to be tough possible losses / draws [ Luton / Coventry /CITY /Sunderland / Hull ] 18 points would give them 69 points .. is that enough to finish better than 7th! To reach 70 pts outsiders Hull and BCFC need 25 [2.3 pts a game] whilst Sunderland need 21 . Near misses could be WBA 19 Coventry 18 Millwall 16 Whilst in the box is Norwich need 15 Luton 13 Blackburn 12. HARD TO SEE Middsbro dropping 23 points in 11 games! Next season wonder who will be the manager when we play Watford?

they will happily pay double that for foreign players but not from Championship! so let them suck on £30m...
watford lose to QPR and go 6/7 points shy of 6th have they missed the boat would Bilic HAVE MAYBE WON THIS ONE! ? Tuesday they will need to win or its cutains!
I 100% agree. I have said this for years about what PL clubs will and won’t pay for foreign players v those from the Championship
