That's reminded me, I must read the new vacuum cleaner instructions (one hour, trying to work out the diagrams!) and start to use it, easy 45 min if I do the stairs as well. Tomorrow evening would be a good time.
Will wait to see full version but I've learned in my work with various nationalities and their use of our language that often they are much more direct with terms without intending to be rude or disrespectful. Let's see.
I'm going for the "Stick finger in each ear and go La la la la" method of ignoring things, for as long as necessary. About four months should do it
Absolutely. Sellés has a good command of the English language but occasionally his grasp of vocabulary goes walkabout, as in this other snippet from today which is slightly weird:
This is much less weird than the Lavia quote to be fair! I hope he isn’t slating one of our only good players. I’ve done something I’ve never done before for this game & sold my ticket. Been planning to go for ages but I just can’t face it. We will probably win now
Even though lockdown is over and the rules relaxed, the Leicester crisp factory, are still socially distancing their crisps in every packet of Walkers. The bastards.
Lavia - sounds like people have got into Romeo's head, and Ruben's trying to push him to refocus a bit - “I will say he’s not impressed me,” said Selles. “He has more football to offer and I expect him to offer more football. He’s not there yet. He needs to step up and move forward. “Romeo has all the qualities to become a great player, but I don’t think he’s there yet. And this is why he didn’t impress me. “I have worked with talent and I think to make the next step he needs to show more domination in the games, more domination in possession, more leadership on the pitch if he wants to become the thing that everybody says about him. So he needs to give more for me, more for the team and he needs to show more for himself. “And it’s nothing that is about him personally, it’s something that the competition is giving to him. So he’s growing through the internal competition and through the competition in the Premier League. So that’s why I say we need to be careful when we talk about kids 17,18 and 19 years old and starting in the Premier League. “I have no doubt that he will be there but he needs some steps and then everybody around him needs to be calmed down because when you try to make four steps forwards, usually you don’t make the first one. “So it’s one step at a time. You stay here with us. You perform. You make this team win football matches, you lead this team on the pitch, lead this team in this dressing room. And then when the season finishes and everybody’s in the Premier League, we can think about something else. Because if we don’t make the target together and we start to put individual targets, then we are not going to make it.”
The last paragraph is spot on. If any of the players start thinking about the exit door already then we have no chance of staying up.
Don't give a single f*ck what any manager has to say in an interview right now. For every word spoken to the media, Selles has spoken a thousand to the players on the training pitch, collectively and individually. That's where his words matter. Just pick the right team, and get the result.
What that says to me is that Lavia's people have got in his head a bit, telling him that he's one of the most talented kids in the world, and that he needs to get out of the ****show that is Southampton Football Club. Selles is, rightly, trying to say "hold up, he may go on to be great, but he ain't there yet, and he needs to knuckle down and help us do everything we can to stay up before he starts getting grand ideas of leaving".
Matchday - Leicester definitely there for the taking after losing to championship opposition midweek!!
Matchday. About the most unfussed I have been for a home game in years. None of me, my dad, his wife and my mate that all have ST and travel together are going. Think that is the first time ever that we collectively havent gone to a home match for reasons other than illness, holiday etc. Normally at least one goes. That is how bad it has got. I will watch it on TV, but even that will be in the background as I just know what is going to happen.
That's exactly how I have read it, these kids and their ****ing teams behind the scenes. The good times will come if you allow yourself to develop. He has moved here for games as he wasn't gonna get any at City. Get your head in the game, work hard, if we stay up, stay another season because chances are if you make the big move you may not feature that much and as RS has said you may go backwards. Well done RS and great to see twitter again giving a damning sentence without the context!
Feels like it was an innocently bad moment at which to ask the question, as this has clearly been going on in the background and pissed Selles off. He needs everyone focussed on the job in hand (though I do hope he hasn't annoyed him so much as to drop him...)
