Can you imagine how less effective Waggy and Chilton would have been if they'd only been played one at a time?
Missed the 1st half but seeing the goal I think if Messi scored it the pundits would be having kittens over the finish
What a sea change from the Bristol game. Both full backs came in and had really good games, Tetteh and Darlow were both pure class. Great battling team performance. Doc, Slater and Tufan (yes even him!) worked their balls off, as did the rest of the team. Well done all, and especially Rosenior for spotting what was going wrong first half and fixing it so comprehensively.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64753415 They list all of WBA’s injuries and don’t even mention ours!
Just watched LR interview on Sky.... Seems Benji was so emotional not only because of the first goal but because he's been struggling as Christian Atsu was his best friend...
First 30 they were in full control but goals change games. Thought Tetteh led the line well and what a great goal from a poor angle. Our second goal was excellent as well, and from a corner. A number of good performances, especially in defence, very good goal keeping and I thought Longman deserved his great ovation when taken off. Performance wise we hung on at times but struck twice for three excellent points.
It was definitely better, though still a very slow start. The formation switch likely helped and I'm glad he finally made an early change, but the players just didn't close down at the start. Just holding shape without pressuring didn't work when we tried it. Tetteh came very close to a goal in the Bristol game and finally got it today. We still seem to be outsmarted on the wings but teams generally don't punish us with good delivery.
Interestingly, it's our 7th home league game without a loss. Last home loss was Reading on 12th November 2022. W3 D4 L0. It's a ****ing fortress, man.
Sky report, with goals ... https://www.skysports.com/football/hull-city-vs-west-bromwich-albion/report/468236
Did not see the game. But I have been blowing Tetteh's horn for a while now. In some games when he had come on he has been unplayable. Streets ahead of Oscar in many areas.
How did we win that game? They had 5 big chances where they simply miskicked the ball. Darlow was unbelievable also. Bar the scoreline I can’t really say much positive from the performance. We lost every second ball, could hardly pass it 2 yards. The last ditch defending was good at times. I suppose we deserve a bit of a luck and the score is the only thing that matters.
