I'd have gone with 4-2-3-1. We need the element of surprise back and need to get more players between midfield and the opponents box. Pope Trippier Schar Botman Targett* Bruno Joelinton Almiron Gordon Willock Isak
Interesting. I like the tough tackling stuff Willock does though, and Joey's attacking moments so I'd be tempted to swap them. ASM just won't work Vs City for me. I guess the choice between Wilson and Isak depends on what Howe sees in training. Swap one for the other if not performing....it's just now is one of those brief times Wilson is available for a significant time, so maybe take advantage of that.
Sometimes I think it can get too complex. I would quite like us going into a 4-4-2, try Isak with Wilson, Almiron left on his favoured foot, Gordon right, and keep Bruno/Joelinton in the middle.
Lads It doesn't matter what formula or ingredients you throw in the recipe... man City have better formula's and ingredients. I wouldn't change anything too dramatically for this one anyway.
How about if we played 5-2-4-2-1 vs City? I think we might have a chance. I'd go with: ................Pope Tripps..Schar..Botman..Burn..Targett .............Bruno...Joelinton Miggy...Longstaff...Willock...Maxi ..........Isak.............Gordon .................Wilson
I understand mate I love the fella, but he just isn't hitting the required numbers. I'd sell him if it meant getting a player that does. Having said that I'd rather keep him and sign a player that does.
Maxi and Isak to strike up a 10 goal partnership in the last 15 games of the season. Heard it here first
I agree. Play him. Tell him to play his natural game. At the moment he’s over thinking everything. He’s trying to play more the way everyone else wants him to play and he’s falling between two stools. City don’t like fast dribbling players running at them . Nobody does. It might come off, it might not but it’s our best chance at the minute of getting 3 points. After City continue coaching him to be himself but with a touch more teamwork involved.
