Not many of Newcastles players would get in Liverpool or Tottenhams side. It's unfair for us to expect them to compete over a full season. The question is whether Newcastle can stay ahead of Fulham and Brighton which is realistic but far from a given thing.
On paper things are always different tbh. Spurs have the best strikeforce in the league with Kane and Song, great midfielders like Kulusevski and Perisic and a decent defence. On paper and with a manager like Conte they should be challenging for the title...but they're way too inconsistent and always have a bad result around the corner, like when we beat them comfortably away before Xmas or when Leicester hammered them recently. Liverpool are a right mess right now with Mane a huge loss, Nunez and Diaz imbalancing the team, and their midfield all over the place. If we comfortably stay above Brighton, Fulham , Brentford etc, then realistically both of them should be within reach.
If Liverpool beat Man United we're finished in terms of top 4 chances and trying to hold onto 6th. Newcastle need a miracle tomorrow to keep those lofty hopes alive and I think we can agree it's highly unlikely. Fulham and Brighton much like ourselves have been excellent and I'm not sure what other to put them I'm come May. Hopefully Brighton get distracted by the FA Cup.
Quite looking fwd to the game still..... hopefully they don't lose the game in the 1st half an hour. That old habit has crept back in.
Hey well, changes happen. Except us losing at Man City, which never changes Pretty sure we've beaten every single team away in the Prem except them.
Chelsea and Man City will never be big clubs, we are bigger than both, so are Everton and Aston Villa.
Remember when we had a supposed London hoodoo. Sir Bobby poo pooed that suggestion and’s smashed it. Next step Citeh
Here you go. Our league form is remarkably consistent albeit cyclical: This suggests that we will draw on Saturday and then go on a run of 4 wins.
